Beeman R9 Lube Tune

 I bought a new Beeman R9 a few months ago which is the same Gun as the Hw95.  The cocking seemed like something was scraping the day I got it.  I posted this on the GTA and more than one person said to just keeping shooting it and it will smooth out.  Well after over a thousand pellets it hadn't smoothed out, so today I took it apart and sure enough I could plainly see where it was scraping. I did a lube tune and its now smooth as butter.  The spring twang is also gone. Highly recommend to do the lube tune when its new.

Disassembled gun and removed the piston & seal.  Sanded the chamber with 220 grit sandpaper and put moly grease in chamber and on seal. Put tar on spring and reassembled. Scraping sound was gone and the shot cycle was much quieter.

Would this void the warranty on a hw95 or an r9. What crosses the line on these warranties.

I never worry about warranties.  It's one thing if there is some crazy problem going on from the moment you just bought it.  It's another if it is just a scrapping noise.  It's always easier to figure out most problems yourself and have a better rifle in the long run then a replacement rifle and have to start all over again.

I'm with you on that and as a machinist of 30 years, I want my love and caring hands on it in the simple maintenance but I am still curious.
From what I have viewed and read, if I owned one I would not fire it until I opened it up.

I still would like to know the official mind set of Weihrauch.

Well done. I had the same experience with an hw 30 I purchased as a gift for a friend. Now a lube tune and internal inspection is the first thing I do with a new springer.

I had a Vortek kit put in mine and tuned. This gun is so smooth, accurate and reliable it's scary!!
It will shoot many different domes extremely well!
Which scope did you use and what pellets does she prefer??

I have a Bushnell 4-12x40 on it.  It likes H&N FTT 8.64 (4.51 & 4.52), JSB 8.44.

Not 100% positive, but am pretty sure that once you open it up you void the warranty.  That being said, if you know your way around a lube-tune, there's probably not much that can go wrong with an R9 that you can't fix yourself (assuming you can find the parts...).
One of the best springers on the market in my opinion.

Knew it!! Mine loves them also!
Also likes JSB 7.87 & 10.3, CPLs and Barracuda Match.
Top 2 are 8.4 and FTT 4.51. Stupid accurate with these 2 out to 100 yards!!
