Plasti Dip your spring for twang?

Just finished tuning a springer and had been thinking about Plasti Dippin' the spring. So, I did. I cleaned it with denatured alcohol and built up several coats. I reassembled and ZERO spring twang with no tar. I can't speak for the longevety or any velocity changes yet. I'll add that data when I get my chrony back and have shot a few hundred shots and disassemble for inspection.

Is the plasti dip like a rubberized coating? Thats interesting. Let us know how it holds up and what your chrony says. Never know you might be on to something.

I dipped it in the can, let it set-up, then flipped and repeated several times.

It is a good idea but it has been tryed years ago it will come off. what I seen was some kind of rubberized coating and the lubricates attacked it so they tryed it dry but it still came off. It will not last unless they have a better product now it will crack and peel and migrate up between the piston and chamber which is not good. the lubricates affect it. Keep a close eye on this I would like to know the results after a few hundred shots. I understand your point here but I think longevity is a problem. just make sure it does not peel and bind the spring. Thanks David
