Help finding a .177 gun

I'm not sure out of all the .177 guns out there, but what .177 gun is the best that's under preferably $150? Is the Beeman RS2 any good? Cause I like the idea of two barrels. It comes with 2 barrels, scope, and case. What are people getting as far as fps on both barrels?

I'd like a .177 gun that is very accurate that is still good for hunting squirrels, birds, ect.

ANY thoughts would be appreciated.

If it must be a Springer, you can get the new RWS Diana 34 Classic (slightly redesigned w/longer forend stock) w/T06 trigger from manventureoutpost.com for under $200 shipped. 

This is the new 34, still made in Germany.  It looks a lot better than the older one IMO because the cocking block is no longer visible.  34's are pretty accurate out of the box, but you can always install a Vortek kit in them and make them a lot better.

If I were buying it (I am getting a custom 34 Premium .20 w/LW barrel directly from Diana in Germany), I would e-mail them first to make sure they have the new 34's in with the T06 trigger, which is Diana's new match-type trigger at just under 2lbs.  You will not find a (stock) gun for less with a better trigger - guaranteed.  From what I 've been reading, the new T06 is almost as good or equal to the HW Rekord trigger.  A couple of people that ordered from manventureoutpost got the new Diana 34 T06 from them, but I would e-mail them to make sure.  The only bad thing about ordering from this vendor is you can't talk to anyone on the phone.  I ordered my 48 .22 (T05) from them last September when it was $298 (they have raised all the prices ever since they got "popular"..) and had no problems.  Pretty soon everyone will run out of the old RWS stock and should be stocking all T06 trigger equipped Dianas.  All their models are supposed to have the T06.

Another option I would look into is a Custom 2400KT (2240 pistol but in .177cal) from the Crosman Web site with 14" barrel and the shoulder stock for under $100.  BUT, you will have to tune the 5.5-7lb trigger yourself, or send it out for a trigger or "accuracy" tune.  The stock trigger is terrible and makes the gun not so accurate.  However, these little CO2 guns can be very accurate and barrels are cheap to swap out.  The longer the barrel, the more power you get.  On the downside CO2 guns are not great if you live in a cold climate or have real winters.  They lose a lot of power and the POI will shift depending on the temps outside.  I would opt for a used Disco .177 ($160-180) if you have all 4 seasons where you live with temp. fluctuations.

Man that is a big question! 

If you want a magnum gun, you might want a TF 89 or a Ruger Air Magnum. You can usually get them for around $150. 

A Ruger Air Hawk or Black Hawk is around $120.  It isn't a RWS 34 but it is a decent copy. 

A really nice looking gun that is similar to the TF 89 is the Norica Storm Classic.  I really like the stock on them. 

Gamo Big Cat combo is less than $150.  My Gamo Whisper is so accurate it almost isn't fun to shoot!   They probably have the same internals.

An RWS is hard to beat and not much higher than what your looking to spend. And the best part is you only have to buy it once. RWS are very good guns and will last and that T06 trigger is so sweet.

If I use 10gr pellets, it will be more accurate than say the regular Crosman Premier pellets? I kinda like the idea of occasionally breaking through the sound barrier to get the cool "crack!"

Any thoughts?

Well breaking the sound barrier kills accuracy because it destabilizes the pellets. Heavier pellets will stop them from doing that and will be less affected by wind other outside influences. I dont know about the ruger air magnum dont have one. My 177 350 shoots 8.4 gr JSB's in the 990's with a flatter trajectory and more accurately than 10.2's. My 470 likes the 10.2's better. They do drop off more at long range but the 8.2 in my 470 break the sound barrier occasionally and dont group as well.

Id go with a little heavier pellet and keep it below the sound barrier.

I have one. It is the most powerful .177 I've ever shot.  Normal pellets look like a shotgun pattern when you shoot them and it sounds like a .22 rimfire.  You have to use at least 10 grain pellets to calm it down.  Mine is in Shadow's World right now getting a tune and RWS 350 internal spring and seal.  It is basically a B28 which is the clone of the RWS 350.  What it has cool though is a nicer scope rail than either gun.  The open sights are also pretty decent I must say if you like open sights. 

Shadow said mine was full of mystery oil and some rust!  The rust may have been my fault though since sometimes when I'm night hunting I leave it on my screened in porch.  As most of you know, TN tends to have a super high humidity and stuff rusts.  

It was grouping really well before I sent it off with the 10.6 grain Crosman Ultra Magnum pellets.  It also liked the H & N 10.5 grain pellets, and the Benjamin 10.5 grain Hollowpoints. So you can see it is pellet tolerant IF you use heavy pellets.

If i had only 150 bucks to work with, I would buy a B25 or an airhawk, (clones of a rws34). or i would try to find an old functional RWS 34. period. it's all the gun you'll ever need... as per want, well that is another story...

Being such a Crosman fan, I would find this hard to pass up if I was in the market for a new .177.  I firmly believe that the refurb guns are much better out of the box than one that comes straight off the boat from China...if you are buying a chinese gun.

Same platform as the quest/phanton/G1/storm, ect.  Mine has many of clean kills on furry critters.  Much better than the RS2 IMO.

The RWS is oft recommended, but is out of your price range. If I'd ever shot the Norica, I might recommend it -- fine looking gun though.

I suggest the TF89 or Crosman Titan as two guns I own, know and love. The Titan .22 GP I have is a remanufactured gun, which means it went back to the factory. I have 3 TF89s, really, one in .177, another in .22, and another disguised as a Walther Force 1000 refurb. in .177 ($65). None of these was more than $135. The .22s shoot about 780. the .177 TF89 in the upper 800s. I have not chronied the WF1000.

Some may be a little rough out of the box. Sometimes it is the luck of the draw. I agree with Scooter that rlairgun does whatever they do right, because what I got from them for $105 was obscene.

HOWEVER...

Just about any gun will perform better with a tune. the TF89s respond very well to a tune. As you want to spend $150, and really that is about the price of a good tune -- don't worry about a tune right away... Whatever you get might break in nicely just repeating the motions.

The Crossman Venom is available from Sportsman Guide.  It is a .177 nitro piston gun.  It is the most accurate smooth shooting gun I own.  Infact I have started selling off other guns because of it.

I paid 165 including tax and shipping.
