probably will shoot the irons or a williams FP-AG. I have a pre safety HW35 standard and hope it's built to the same standards.

I have a tack driver of a scoped hw35e in .177 that I am perfectly happy with but YOU had to come around and let me know about this price drop. That combined with a 50 dollar gift card and now I have a .22 coming to me for 445 which is a great price for this wonderful air rifle I didn't need. ☺️

Cannot wait for this one in .22. This one will keep irons. Maybe a rear aperture.

It's a great rifle that looks great is smooth as silk and very accurate. I think you will enjoy this "horribly obsolete piece of kit". 😱

For years I've regretted not getting an HW35e.  In my youth my family lived overseas, my local airgun dealer had a 35e with a beautiful, really nicely figured stock (not the kind of plain, straight-grain walnut Hatsan owners typically call "beautiful," but a genuinely gorgeous piece of wood)  but he also just got in a new-ish model 80.  Both cost the same, both were at 12fpe, which is really all I've ever needed, but I listened to the dealer boasting about the modern, superior "magnum" HW80 compared to the old-fashioned 35e that he thought would be discontinued in the not too distant future (still hasn't happened 30+ years later).  And, I also knew that when we returned to the States, I could get a US spring for the HW80 that would boost power by at least 100fps, so I went for brawn over beauty and ended up with an HW80 with a rather plain stock.  Anytime thereafter I saw a picture of a Weatherby or some other rifle with a pretty stock in a magazine, I started regretting going for the plain beech-stocked HW80 instead of the gorgeous HW35e.

Very nice.  The 35 is on my hit list.  I would love to get a LH version identical to that.  I have never held one but on paper it is the perfect rifle for me.  Enjoy.

My first 35 is the basic one and it has the German F stamp:
CPL's were 583 for 5.94 FPE
If anyone knows how to tighten up the lock up, let me know.  It does have a vertical wiggle but as long as I take my time, it locks up fine.  Once in a while I whip it up closed and it accidentally semi-dry fires.

Numero dos was going to be better.  And it is.  But this one turned out to be a 70's model that has a 13mm rail that I have skidded the BKLs off of. I ordered some Sportsmatch rings but the fine salesman at AoA overthought my new purchase and changed my rings to fit the new one instead of my vintage one.  sigh
She is doing 10.74 FPE with FTT's at 755 fps
780 with CPLs
761 with Exacts with what I believe is a leather seal (but I haven't cracked her open-likely has been worked on???).

Today is the day of the HW35e:
Basics 860FPS; 11.41FPE
FTT's 757FPS; 10.8FPE
CPL's 788FPS; 10.89FPE
Exacts 777FPS; 11.26FPE

Bottom line is that they are BIG, HEAVY, but SWEET shooters.  Long barrel makes cocking them all very nice and easy.  Weight and that short stroke makes them gentle.

Anyone know how they feel compared with an R8?  I know that one is a bit lighter and less powerful but often touted as supreme.  I think this 35 is quite the cat's meow.  I don't know how I feel about the HW30 as it is easier to cock and lighter but this just feels right my friends!

And by big, I mean it almost doesn't fit the soft case.  It's about 44" nose to tale.
