I ordered one on Black Friday for my daughter and it just arrived today. First impressions, after taking it out of the box and firing three rounds with it:
- The quality may not be as high as on my Hatsan 95. The exterior metalwork and bluing looked good, but there was a patch of oil on the synthetic stock's fore end. The breech seal does not look uniform - there is a slight depression on one side and a black substance on the breech block there that I initially thought was melted black rubber from the seal, but I think may have just been excess bluing. The breech seemed a bit on the tight side with RWS Hobby pellets.
- It actually fit me better than I expected - I was thinking it would be more kid-like in proportions. I think this rifle is too big for a younger kid but my 9 year old should be able to handle it size-wise. I would say 9-10 is probably the minimum age for the rifle. It's about double the weight of a Crosman 760 or Daisy Red Ryder and felt light to me but I'm not sure how a kid will find it.
- It wasn't hard to cock - I'm guessing maybe 15lbs cocking effort, but it had a really short stroke, about 40% less than that of a more typical break barrel. I'm not even sure that it broke 90 degrees at full cock.
- Trigger pull seemed single stage and was quite light, maybe 3lbs, but very long.
- It's very quiet, just makes a bit of a "plunk" sound and no recoil to speak of.
- The sights are nice and easier to use than the ones on my 95.
- It was weird seeing the pellet travel to the target - I hadn't seen that in 35 years since I last fired my 760 with a few pumps behind a BB.
- Seems like it will be accurate enough for a typical kid - I got about 1.5" with a three-pellet group offhand at 25ft for the first three shots with it.

I received my two Alpha's from Airgun Depot today in a timely manner. I must say I was surprised as they are a very nice looking and well finished air rifle. Don't seem like a youth model at all. They have a 13 inch lop good for an adult. It weighs 5.3 pounds, the box states this and so did my scale. The open sights were right on out of the box, both of them. I shot at a tin can about 20 yards out and hit just about every time with an assortment of pellets of different weights. Easy to cock. The previous post tells it about right. The box says 16+ age but this may be a legal thing. I like it so far. I may hold off putting a scope on it as the open sights do so well for now.

The Alpha is identical to the women's, just a different stock color. It also used to be called the Striker Junior. All the same rifle from what I can tell. I didn't get mine yet. FedEx couldn't find my office... funny though, he found it just fine yesterday. Must've been an New Guy.

Got mine today (actually it's for my wife). Ditto on the previous comments. One question, I noticed what looks like some sort of scope stop at the end of the receiver (see pic)? Is that what that is? Do you rest one of the scope rings against it or something?

Yes a scope stop and should do the job. But not needed on this low power rifle I should think. Frank

Just got one packaged in with an AT 44 10. Fun little gun we shot it in the backyard a few times and what is said above is right on. I was surprised at how well it fit a guy my size for a "youth" rifle. I'm thinking scope and short range ratter

I just received one of these also for free with an at44. Just as accurate as my R7, trigger pulls long, and chonied at 600fps with jsb's 7.33. I just tore the gun down and it seems to be a gamo clone looking like the GRT III trigger will fit. I plan on deburing, lubing, and making accustom rear guide and top hat tomorrow morning. Cheap gun but its accurate and I have the equipment so why not tune it and see how she turns out. It will be a nice everyday plinker for my boy so he doesn't beat up his old Santa Rose R7 I restored for him. Let me know if anyone want any pics while the gun is disassembled.

Oh yea the safety is in a different position then a gamo but if you remove the gun from the stock and look and you've seen or worked on gamos youll see what I mean.

What sort of scope rail does it have? I tried mounting the Optima 3-9x40 scope and rings that came with my AT44 but it won't fit. The rings don't fit the rail and I think the scope is too big.
Incidentally, I took mine to the range the other day where the closest target is 50 yards. My vision is lousy and need new glasses so shooting with bare sights was a challenge. Even still, with the elevation on the rear sight to the max and about 10" of hold over, I was hitting the target no problem. Fun little shooter.

I dint measure but I know there suppose to be 11mm but I have found them to be wider even on the at44. I was able to use utg mounts on mine. I didn't even try the sights I wanted to see what the gun was fully capable of. As for the mounts that came with the scope I threw them away after looking at them.

Yes, please post pics and more details. I'm surprised by the chrony numbers, but that may explain the ease of hitting 50 yds. If it had a bigger stock I'd be tempted to keep it. Wonder if it would fit in to a Striker 1000 stock?

I cant comment on wether it will pit the stiker stock. I finished the parts tHis morning. A steel rear guide with a teflon bearing, a teflon tophat, polished spring ends, deburred everything and puloshed the piston. Also made the trigger a 2 stage with a very crisp let off right around 2lbs. I wont go into detail on the trigger mod for safety reasons. Aslo the one breech shim is plastic I replaced it with a brass one the other side is a steel shim, not sure why they cut a corner here. Was the gun worth the extra TLC well yes in my opinion on paper the gun showed some real potential. Were else can you get find a kids gun that shoots this good. Now I am using a scope. Tonight once I get it back togetherill shoot some paper 25yds and 50yds. I think this will be a better choice for my son to do some small pest elimination in the woods rather then beat up his R7. I took some pics and will post them tonight if I can find an image resizing program unless someone wants to post them for me I can email them. Lubes im using on this one is maccaris moly and his clear tar.

I did get to shoot a little this evening 1 ragged hole at 25yds. 50yds ill try tomorrow. Shot cycle is nice and smooth but I think lightening the piston would help some so later this week ill mill some slots in it. Its a heavy chunk of metal a a bit of lightening should make it even sweeter. Also the trigger is very predictable now nice and crisp.
