does anyone here hunt with open sights on springers?

Thanks men  for your help. im convinced  dont feel like messing with the scope and mount situation now to make the decision on which air gun to get may call MM first and talk over the options with him id really like to have the RWS 34 22 cal,  a 25 seams appealing also

if you like the idea of an rws34, you'll love the xs25. i have one, ( ruger airhawk ), in .177. i did all the work to it myself, and it consistently puts 10 pellets in a group just a little bigger than a pencil eraser at 14 yards. ( that's the measured distance of my basement range ).
a fully tuned 25 from mike will fill your needs, and, it comes with a lifetime warranty, from mike. they may not have the "snob appeal" that the others have, but, they'll shoot just as good. as far as i'm concerned, hitting what i aim at is more important than what name is stamped on the receiver. and, you can buy a lot of pellets with the money you saved. just my two cents.

I have hunted with open sights and peep sights. I have Williams peep sights on a few rifles and they work well. You can find different sized irises for them which is handy too. I also have a few vintage "match" type sights that are sturdy enough for springers but harder to find. I have the old HW and Anschutz sights which you can get Gehmann adjustable iris for. The key to using a peep sight is having an iris large enough to let the right amount of light through. A fine iris is more precise but on a dim overcast day a fine iris may not give a clear sight picture.
