Decided to trade my BT65 QE 25 cal

for a Sumatra 2500 25 cal.  My buddy wanted something with a shrouded barrel.  This is his first PCP; I'm throwing in a scuba tank and fill assembly to get him started.

We went out and shot for about 3 hours today.  He has a Hatsan 125TH and want to get a PCP.  He wanted to buy my BT65 and I was going to just sell it to him to fund a Sumatra.  So we just decided that he would order the Sumatra and we would trade.  The reason for the trade was that he would get the scuba tank, fill assembly and a budget scope (Centerpoint 3-9x40).  The 500cc full size gun.

Thanks.  I really like the BT65 but wanted a 25 cal that can shoot cast bullets and the BT65 mag have trouble with all the samples I've seen.  I'm crazy about my 22 cal Sumatra so I think it will work out ok.  Only bad thing is I have to get a screw on LDC for the noise.

You know, that short mag/narrow breech & the weight are the only real downsides to the BT.

Well I can live with the things you mentioned, but that stiff action, and never being sure if I have chambered a round (.25), only to find out I had more then one, then trashing a barrel with too many pellets from night shooting. My sale fell thru twice on selling my Elite, now I am thinking about having it converted to a big bore and selling. That is only way I will break close to even.

Idk about breaking even, I would think that its going to be a lot of money to convert your Elite over to a big bore. This is just me speculating but just based on the pics that Rick has posted, It looks like you would have to have an new upper receiver and barrel. Also the stock you have has the place for the two extra clips? If you convert it over the big bore from the pics it looks like its a bigger magazine which would mean that you would not be able to use it also. So I don't think the breaking even thing would happen. This is just based on me looking at Rick's and having shot a friend's Elite.

The Career Ultra 9mm .357 cal is basically a 35 cal Sumatra.

They're not imported to the US anymore so you will have to find a used one.  Mine was power tuned by Will Piatt when Manny owned it.  It's a fire breathing beast.  Evanix sell several  30, 35, 45 & 50 cal repeating airguns.

I love it.  The power of big bore airguns is pretty impressive.  I shot some water filled gallon cans at 80 yards and it seems like someone just kick the cans.  They explodes when the 143 gr round ball hits it.  I haven't hunted with it and only used the RBs.  Just got my Lee 200gr mold today so this weekend I plan to cast some bullets and see how they do.

I might just get one of those. With the power adjuster turned down, a .45 round ball isn't too much for small game. Cranked up and with a 180-200 grain flatnose or SWC, it is good for deer and hogs. Also with the round ball, it is good for plinking. That's hard to beat. Free shooting, or as close as you can get to it, if you build an effective bullet trap so you can recover the lead.That makes it even cheaper to shoot than a .22 PCP or springer that has to have factory-made pellets.

BTW, are you using pure lead or a harder alloy?

I shoot it on low power when I shoot for recreation.  I have chronied it on high just to see what the power numbers are.  It's surprisingly accurate also.  I have shot 12oz cans at 100 yards fairly easily.  When I got mine I wasn't even looking for another big bore.  I got it used for a deal I couldn't turn down and it was from someone I knew took good care of their guns.  He sold it to fund a build project on another gun.
