New Beeman R9 question?

My first gun was a Gamo Big Cat .22.  Gun was fun to shoot, but I wanted more accuracy.  Purchased a Beeman R9 .177.  Gun is very accurate out of the box. I'm already shooting dime size groups at 20 yards.  My question is do I need to do anything to the gun or is it good enough as is?  It has the springer buzz/twang that is annoying but not sure that can be eliminated on a springer.

After about 1000 shots the buzz went away and the shot cycle was very good on my R11. I thought I might get her tuned, but have decided to wait.

i have about 600 shots on my .22 hw 95. (same as r9) and still very buzzy. i ordered a tune kit from vortex. hoping that will take care of it.

When you get 1500 shots through her then make the decision. You might find you want to wait.

too late jesse, kit arrived today. besides , after shooting Joe P's  vortex tuned rifles i just can't take the  buzz any more. i will report back after its install an let you guys know if i thought it was worth it.

Based off my experience with my R11 it took 1000 shots to notice a difference and kept getting better by the time I got to 2000 shots.  It now shoots better than most tuned rifles.  Like Booger I will get around to tuning it but it shoots great so no big hurry.

The Vortek will remove the twang.  Shot cycle will be just a quick thump and the shot is away.  No torque or buzz.  However, from what I've read these are notoriously buzzy guns when new then smooth up as was mentioned above.  I would wait it out and see.  You can order the kit anytime.  Congrats on a fine rifle.

The pg2 kits I've installed(7 to date) along with propper tuning, or in guns just needing a refresh, did more than just iliminate buzz or twang. They also remove torque, reduce recoil, and last but not least make the gun overall less noisy. All these things combined make the gun more fun to shoot and a lot less hold sensitive. I guess I'm spoiled by these kits. And I'd rather spend $80 or $90 on the kit and get results right away vs the same $ on pellets to bed it in which will never equate to a well tuned rifle with custom fitted parts. Just my experience.
