This may not be in the right gate but here it goes. I'm fairly new to the adult air-gunner's world, aside from growing up with one in hand. When it comes to airguns, as a kid, I never looked to anyone's help to get anymore than what came out the box under the Christmas tree. We just shot them until we wore them out, then moved on to the powder burners. Left them in the closet as sentimental pieces that we did not have the heart to throw away. Then, to me, this new generation of adult airguns came back into my life. The next thing I knew I was collecting airguns like my wife collects shoes. It started off with a Crosman NP .22 cal that became an obsession, filing on this, polishing that, blinging it out with gold triggers trying anything to make it "better". When the NP2 came out I just had to have it. Now I'm back to square one. Of course I wish I would have never sold my old NP, but at this point nothing could get me to sell my NP2. I love the feel of this gun but I needed help to get the most out of it.
I have never been a social media guy. My first experience was not a good one and had sworn it off, but with need comes desperation. In steps GTA forum, from this forum came the help I needed and I want to thank the people who take the time and effort to share what they have learned with others. People like Bicycleman, John B, from the PCP world and now a fellow NP2 shooter, the Privateer a man that has gone out of his way to help me with my new project.

Outside of personal gain ... what good is knowledge if not passed along to others who seek it too ?
As is life ... everyone holds an opinion, when shared some are constructive ... others not so much.

May your Air gunning future be bright and insightful enough to eventually share giving knowledge back to the AG community.

Great post. I remember having air rifles years ago and they got worn out and I got into powder burners.
But funny thing is I found my way back to airguns. And you are correct oh boy did they change.
I don't do much online stuff except this forum and your right the people are great and willing to share their knowledge.
I learn stuff everyday and here.
And Scott your so right about passing on knowledge.
Some day I hope to be able to help someone out the same way I am being helped out.

Hey Dave,
I like to think of myself as a "Man's Man" My wife just thinks I'm a little rough around the edges, but when I see men like Scott take the time, as he has done before to chime in and share the knowledge that came to him though trail and error with guys like me, well, it adds some light to the day. I work in the medical field at a time when I see the hard worker getting screwed by the system and the lazy @@@ who never earned his "entitlements" getting the fruits of people who spent their lives making the system work. Communicating with you guys helps me to get my mind off of work and things I can not change.
When I'm not working or taking care of the family, I'm pursuing one of my three passions falconry, kayak fishing & once again air-gunning. Had one of my power burning friends bragging about his large gun collection and how much he loved to shoot them and ragging me about my "BB guns" when I stopped him in his tracks when I asked him when was the last time he shot one. We don't live where you can shoot a .30-30 in the back yard, but after a hard day I can grab a gun and a tin pull off a few rounds to relieve some of the day's tension and not break the bank.
PS.That's quite a jump, a Daisy to a Sumatra or vise versa

Hi Rod I think we all are a little rough around the edges.i fix plate makeing equipment for a newspaper and it keeps me busy. I understand your frustration regarding the hard worker getting screwed over.
I have had a few people on the forum who have helped me a lot.
Rod and Scott just want to say in advance thank you for any help you send my way. Hope I can return the favor some day.
Falcony wow that is a amazing those birds are awsome how did you get into that?
When not working I took care of Ma before she passed now I go camping and work on my 64 falcon convertable and shoot and fish.
Well I jumped from the daisy to the sumartra. Funny story the week before Ma passed I showed Ma a picture and told her about it she told me to buy it so I did ( girlfriend was not to happy but hey she adjusted)
I had a friend of mine ask me about the BB gun and give me greif about it. Then he fired it and it changed his mind.

Rod yes this is a great place to be. Whenever anyone has a problem or just a simple question members chime in so quick it is almost unbelievable. One great group of people always looking out for someone with a problem.
There is no other place on the net like the GTA.

 At first, when the administrator moved my post to the "Back Door" gate, I thought I was just talking to myself. Now, that I see the responses to it, I'm glad he knew was he was doing to make this forum the great place it is. By his actions I now know why we come together. For the most part I have learned that we have good family values and a common passion for the things we love. Where else can you find a group of guys and gals that have such a great diversity of interest that appeals to us all. For example, Dave's 64 Falcon convertible, I don't know about y'all, but I would love to take a ride on a cool fall morning through a winding road enjoying the colors of the season in a cool  rod like that. Wouldn't it be nice to meet up with Joe and play a couple of games of nine ball and maybe enjoy a beverage or two? And we can't forget the bikers, who wouldn't enjoy the same ride with the wind in our faces. Mike, I haven't forgot about you. My Gary Fisher Mountain bike needs some dust knocked off. John B, I have not forgotten the personal emails on my opinions I felt that may not have been appropriate for public view. Jeff, who could have profited off me, instead though his generosity and without his knowing probably saved me a good night's sleep on my NP2 project. Without your help my airguns would be up for sale or thrown in the bayou behind my house.
I would love to see the look on my new friends faces, as one of my hawks slips in just over one of my mini long haired dachshunds head at one hundred mile per hour to take out a big swamp rabbit. Then, follow me home and enjoy my famous Cajun rabbit spaghetti with all the fixing. This is also the time of year to hook a big bull redfish in the kayak and go for a "Cajun slid ride" as you fight to reel him in. I know I have left out others like Scott that have helped me with questions about leaking O-rings and carbon fiber tanks. To them I also offer this word of thanks.

Joe, although I have left my pool league for a year now, I have been playing pool for 50 years ...... and I have NEVER played a game of 10 ball.  I know what it is, just never played it.  Weird.

In response to Dave's 64 Falcon convertible. A great friend of mine who passed away 2yrs. ago of a brain tumor after surviving testicular cancer at age 22. Every year about this time of year I think about this indecent. Jeff had a white 64 Ford Falcon with a black top 289 4 speed. So the night started at a party with hard cider being consumed, he dropped me another friend at home. then he headed home. Oh I just remembered that it had rained earlier that day so the streets were still a little wet. So Jeff going down a major street on his way home. he takes of from a stop light starts losing control hits another car. A couple of guys are at the burger stand across the road to check out to see if every body is all right everybody is fine. So the guys could tell he's been drinking so they gave him a burger loaded with onions before the cops got there. So then they offered him some advice about how to explain how the accident occurred they told him to undo the throttle return spring. Jeff's mother worked for Philco Ford at the time I'm a little foggy on how this happened but the spring was tested and found to be defective so FoMoCo picked up the whole tab.
   So that's my memory about 64 Ford Falcon convertibles.

Been popular for around 5 - 7 years Allan. Main reason this game came up is because the break in 9 ball can become predictable.....and the better players were running between 4 and 7 racks in a row!!
By adding one more ball the break becomes much harder to attempt to play position for a particular ball in the rack. Great game!!

If the 10 ball drops on the break it comes back up and gets spotted!!
