Benjamin Trail XL725 accuracy issue.

I've put just over 600 rounds through this gun since I've gotten it the other week. I am using Benjamin Dome pellets.
So far I've cleaned the barrel with goo gone, and tightened secured the screws.
As fair as airguns go, I am a complete newbie. As far as shooting goes, I have a fair level of experience. I have spent quite some time with my AR15, and shooting a number of other guns at the range and informally.
My current groupings at 40 yards are within 6 inches. Which is pretty horrible. Considering I can easily keep my groups within an inch with my AR15 at 200 yards.
So far what I've heard, is that some of these guns have damaged seals, which I am thinking is a possibility. I do not have a chronograth so I can't tell how consistant the FPS is. Which is my biggest concern.
Other then that, I've noticed a number of pellets that look less then perfect. So, ammo is a possibility...I have ordered some new pellets.
Now, I brought the target into about 30 feet. I was able to make a half inch group quite easily. Going to play with the ranges and see what that tells me. If any of you guys have any theories, hit me up. Trying to get mind working around this.

If you've been using only 1 pellet type then that could be your problem, your gun simply might hate those Benjy domes. Try different pellets and find the one that the rifle likes. Also, do you still have the stock trigger in the gun? If so then that could be a big part of your problem as well. Swap out that trigger for one of CDT's replacement triggers and you should see a huge difference. If a new trigger and new pellets don't fix the problem then there's a good chance it's a damaged seal. A chrony would of course verify that with a single shot string but since you don't own a chrony it's a moot point.
Try the different pellets and new trigger first,,, I'd be willing to bet you'll see quite a difference
Let us know how you make out.

I have one also. Besides the trigger being pretty terrible, they are very hold sensitive. I have shot several different kinds of pellets out of it, and still have not put 200 rounds through it. I can shoot a 1 1/4" group at 40 yards with it though. The hold is very important with this rifle. If I forget to use the artillery hold, the pellets fly everywhere. So far, mine is really liking the JSB Match Diablo Exact King 25.4grain pellets. I need to finish breaking it in. Try the artillery hold, it can make all the difference.

Hey Ricochet, what island you on ?.....I would try grouping at 20 yards first, those rifles are very hold sensitive it took me awhile to get mine down, but when you do they are awsome
I've being real lucky with H&N pellets out of Crosman barrels you might wanna try some of those, if you live on Oahu you can come to my house I have a nice range and all the different brands of .25 Pellets you can try

I live on Maui, so close, but so far away! Hahaha
I have ordered quite a few tins of different pellets from PA. They are supposed to arrive here on the 2nd, so trying to just be patient until then.
Just have to keep shooting
