It was made in 1999

Its a 20cal. Not sure I wanted a 20 but it came in a package deal with a TX 200

I have identified two things. I am a springer guy and I have a problem.

Ive got the 97 in .20 cal . Its a smooth accurate shooter. I switched from jsb 13.9 grain over to h&n ftt 11.55 grain. She averages 770 fps and groups excellent. Youll like!  K- man

check serial number Quote from JM website for when 26MM size started

"Hw77-97 ( over 1" bore-newer guns) For serial no.1446049 and over 77-97 guns. Below this they take a smaller seal. SN info supplied by HW."

From going through old HW post it looks like the change was made about 1997. Will have to get the rifle in hand to be sure.

if its 25MM you lucked out they are  pleasure to shoot and if its a 26mm one its still a long barreled 97 which is uncommon now as well

For some history of the 97/97K, a post on the Yellow Forum from 2003 says that in 1999 HW updated the internals of the HW77/77K/97 to the 26mm piston to give the rifles more power (for the export market).  The 97 still had the longer barrel in 1999.  In 2000 HW introduced the carbine version of the 97, the 97K, which also used the 26mm piston, and the longer barrel 97 (without the K) was no longer available.

The serial number posted above should let you determine if your .20 cal millennium HW97 has the 25 or 26mm piston.  Many observers say the 25mm was ideal for a 12 fp gun.  Whichever you have, the long barrelled 97 is very nice find.

I shoot a 1986 HW77k  with a 25mm piston and love it. It is not hold sensitive at all. I mean none! I think it is shooting closer to 11fpe. Been wanting to get inside of it but it shoots so good that I cant bring my self to mess with it. It has a mild buzz in the shot cycle.

It has a 2 digit serial number  R00XX. It is also a K model. The extra length is for the LDC or what ever you want to call it. The actual cocking lever is the same length as my HW77k
