Eric at Compufoil Does it again ... Custom SF wheel

Had been talking with Eric for near 6 months about his ability to manufacture ECCENTRIC profile side focus wheels.
I had dropped the ball when I swapped out my Hawke Tac-30 for an Optisan Viper which had this huge 6" wheel avalible.

After a few months using a straight 6" wheel decided to contact Eric once more and commit to him making me this Custom wheel for my Optisan Viper,

Well 6" SF wheels make getting a rifle fitted with one NEAR IMPOSSIBLE to fit into a soft case or modest size hard cases 
You are left to CUT AWAY the unused portion of wheel so when SF rotated to min distance the area of wheel now missing allows you to stow rifle into a case  ... a Getto mod to be sure.

An ECCENTRIC wheel does the same thing without having to be chopped on !!  ... Plus is a LOT easier to handle and turn using spokes instead of random spaced holes.

Scaling also gets expanded on the further distances end and compressed at the closer ranges ... Perfect !!
Wheel is 5" diameter and offset an equivalent 7.5" diameter.





What an EXCELLENT product done via Manual lathe and CNC mill in house.

As to the the cost  .... $110.00

     That's a nice work. How are you setting up your pointer. Your right about big wheels and the case. This is what I'm using on my Endurance. it works out to a 5" wheel.

Pointer become a small diameter piece of music wire sandwiched in the scope ring gap that runs parallel to scope tube just inside of SF rings inboard surface. As the diameter profile changes, the wire being a reference edge to note range distance markings.

* While these eccentric wheels look odd  ... the design is VERY two fold in application.
1st being how it skews the range scaling.
The typical close range marks which are far apart get compressed closer on the smaller effective diameter, while the longer range tightly stacked marks get expanded more. This alone for a FT shooter is AWESOME !

2nd the ability to roll the wheel down to minimum clipping all the height above elevation turret and get fitted rifle into a conventional scoped rifle case or bag.

Ultimately destined to be on the RAW TM-1000 Hybrid ... rifles not here just yet

    Don the coma I have pictured above swings completely out of the way. That came from Joe, don't know where he got it.
