Finally got my lazy setup

I work all day so the last thing I want to do when I want to enjoy some shooting is work. The Hill pump is gone and the tank is in. I sold my Hill for $220 and I bought this setup with everything new for $230. I wish I would of known about this before I even bought that dang pump. I thought scubas were plain useless for most pcps, but it will fill my p-rod 77 times before I can't get a full shot string. These things are the way to go if you have a p-rod or other rifle with a small reservoir that you only fill to 2500 or so psi.

Besides obviously being a scuba tank, can you give more details as to what we are looking at, for the uninitiated?
I love my 3.5k 80cf scuba for disco and p-rod.

It's an aluminum 3k psi 80 cubic foot scuba. I got it on Amazon for $149+20 to ship it. It showed up being a little over 1 year old, it was made in 2013. Fill assembly is just a Ninja paintball adapter that screws on and the whip isn't microbore or anything.

Nice setup and reasonably priced as well. Thats a great setup for a Prod or Disco, Makes me want a Prod now 

It is Similar to the one I have, Mine is a 100 cubic foot aluminum tank with a fill of 3300 PSI + 10% which I can fill to 3600 PSI. I think I gave $278 out the door new from the local dive shop, the fill station was about $40. Its hard to believe how much air this tank holds. At first I was a little skeptical, but it sure has done the job. I can shoot about 3 weeks of casual shooting before I need a refill! I can get 25 good 3K fills on my Mrod and 75 good 2K fills on my Discovery.  After it gets to low for the Mrod I use the rest on my Disco.

Thanks for sharing the info, just goes to show you don't really have to have a 4500 tank for these lower volume fill guns!

I ditched the fill whip on the fill yoke. That long thing holds waaaay too much air to just bleed off every time. The prod is so short and lightweight I just stick it straight into the yoke's foster fitting and fill from there. Minimal air loss and the tank is easier to move around.

It does waste air for sure, I need a shorter one, this one I think is micro bore! I do connect my buddy bottles directly to the fill station but my guns need a hose because there isn't enough clearance without it. Your Prod is perfect for these setups, I just may have to save up and get myself a Prod as well! Would love to have one for squirrel hunting.

No doubt about it. This is the way to go. I bought my 100cf aluminum 3300psi tank off of craigslist for $80 and the yoke/whip was $40 on amazon. It had 6 months left on the Hydro and it's actually in for retesting now. My fill guy gave me a loaner and filled it for $5. When it's empty, I'll take it back and pick mine up, tested and filled for $25. We have 3 FDPCP and I wouldn't enjoy them near as much if we had to pump them. We also have a Trapmaster 1100 and 2 2240 that we are eventually going to convert to bulk fill. My only regret is the fact that the guy I got it from also had an 80 cf tank for $50 and I didn't buy it. I'm sure it's gone by now.

Oh I forgot, I also bought a small utility 2 wheel cart from Walmart for $25. I strap the tank to it and attached a backpack on the back. Very handy. A used golf bag cart is another good idea.

How much of a hurry are you guys in? I generally fill a couple of 10 shot magazines after pumping to allow my heart rate to return to normal. Pumping is not that difficult and does not raise your heart rate to the levels I experience when I'm cutting wood with a chainsaw, let alone splitting and stacking. Riding my bike, skiing, and hiking up a hill all raise my heart rate above simply pumping my air gun.

A recent study reported that people with an abnormal decline in heart rate in the two minutes following exercise had a greater chance of dying in the subsequent six years from heart failure than people whose heart rate returned to baseline more quickly. Other studies show that regular physical exercise can reverse the symptoms and decrease heart rate recovery time. 

On the other hand, biathlon competitors shoot very accurately from the standing position just seconds after cross-country skiing at a competitive racing pace, one of the most physically demanding activities known. Of course this is a skill anyone can master - it requires being aware of your heart rate and releasing the trigger in the calm moment between heart beats.  If pumping a PCP by hand takes you into this realm two minutes after pumping is complete, it is a sign that your life is in danger due to inactivity.

Mixing enjoyable activities into your daily routine can increase your enjoyment of life while increasing your level of fitness. Hiking, skiing, canoeing, surfing, bicycling, rowing, dancing, etc. (even hand pumping) can all contribute to better health, longer more enjoyable life and a heart rate that returns to baseline much quicker.

I hope this doesn't sound condescending but it amazes me how many people overlook (or poo-poo) these simple steps to greater enjoyment.
