Great for near point blank range ... But being air gun pellets are so slow and arch so much in flight ... a laser will allow you to hit the barn door with ease, but not likely the fly you were aiming for

I am going to center at 40 yds to use it as a range finder! Anything that is lower than the dot is under 40 yds and it will help me have a quick acquisition of target when it is at 40!

Hey PJ,
I have 2 powerful green lasers. I really don't know how far they show out to? Past a 1/4 mile or more at night and about 40/50 yards in daylight.
I have one on my Remington 597 Armidillo PC .22 lr rim fire with 30 round mag.. It sits along side of a Stream Light sharing a Weaver bar raised from a Dove Tail. I can see the iron sites under the adapter in the day light so works well. The light uses a 45º side Weaver mount so laser can sight directly over barrel, light is so powerful, the slight offset doesn't matter.
I have it zeroed at 25 yards. The light for spotting the Dillos and the Laser for night time sighting. They use◇◇ 2◇◇ A123 batteries each, extremely bright and as long as nothing comes lose or gets bumped they are very accurate.
☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★★★☆★☆★☆★☆★
The other one sits attached to my Scope on my the 125. That one uses a figure 8 mount with UTG Light and like the stream light uses◇◇ 2◇◇ A123 batteries, the figure 8 mount has a Weaver mount scope ring cap on each side of the top of the figure 8 scope mount.
I have the 125 laser zeroed at 12 yards. Both lights, are perfect for night target shooting at 25 yards. You can actually see bugs on the targets at 25 yards.
Both lights, especially the Stream light should put white light on your prey out to 40 yards. Racoons eyes light up green, if I recall.
Oh yeah, both the lasers and the lights come with the squeeze switches, I don't like them so since both lights and lasers "lock on",
I use them that way.
Batteties are EXTEMELY POWERFUL, but not cheap if you buy Durcells at local Target. With that said, Amazon sells a pretty big package of A123 batteries for under $20, can't reminder how many, maybe 16 batteries in a package.
I went long term and bought the rechargeable setup.
I have 2 single battery lights on my Galation and my BT65. Then 2 double battery lights on my Stream light and my UTG..
I think you get 4 rechargeable A123s and a charger for like $30 on Amazon.
So, PJ,
If you are interested in the lasers, I will look back on my Amazon records and get you the brands. I think they are like about $40 each, but they are very powerful and they have regular scope style adjustments, up/down and left and right.
I strongly suggest you avoid those little lasers with the hearing aid batteries, those have "NO POWER" especially in day light and it is difficult to find quality batteries. IMO.
Be Well,
Gator

I bought my green dot lazer from amazon from a company called ACE AUTO ~This is a great company to do business with! I emailed them my complaint that before I had it sighted in the lazer quit working , and in 48 hrs after them getting the email they shipped out a new one infact it was an updated version!! WOW that's service!
the old one you had to take off the caps and use an allen wrench to zero the sight in, but the new one you just turn the knobs on the outside! the only complaint I have it it will only hold zero on 100 yds! The tensioner is too weak so I may have to salvage the other one out! Oh yeah by the way they said just keep the faulty one!! this lazer is really bright it shows a shaft of green light as far as I can see! Runs on a cr123A battery!

Hey PJ.
I got 2 and they were 2 different turrets.
On with Allen and one with slots.
One had turrets backwards and they replaced.
After a year both are still working and fortunately holding zero. They really shine a long ways at night.
Looks like "Tinker Bells" fairy dust falling off from the main beam. Kind of cool.
Be Well
Gator
Good luck with yours.

I just got a green 5mW laser, and after looking at ChairGun I'm going to try mounting it under the stock on my Hatsan AT-44 Long, as I have a short Weaver rail there.... It will end up about 4" below the boreline, and if I set it to intersect the crosshairs at about 60 yards I can use it as a rangefinder.... I've never heard of anyone using one this way before, but the idea is simple.... You look through the scope, at your target, and if the laser dot is on the crosshair, you are at 60 yards.... If it's 1/2 MilDot high, you are at about 74 yards, and 1 MilDot high the target is at about 97 yards.... If the dot is 1/2 MilDot low, the range is 50 yards, and 1 MilDot low it is 43 yards.... That corresponds to my Far PBR, so closer than that I can hold dead on.... Over 43 yards, you get a good idea of the range by using where the laser dot is on the reticle, and hold accordingly.... You're never using the laser to aim with, only as a rangefinder....

Nice idea Bob. Simple & effective.
Additionally, it would help the shooter in aiming as wrt eye position when looking through the scope. When eye position is correct it'll be dead center on the crosshairs, if eye position is improper it'll be on either side of the vertical, or over/under the horizontal.
Can the laser you referred to be relatively easily adjusted in it's mount? or will there be some shimming involved? & where did you get it?

My personal preference are UTG lasers. They're not too expensive, mount rather easily, and stay zeroed once set up. I have a red laser (laser/light combo) on my AT-44 TACT and a green laser/ light combo on my Evanix Rainstorm. Night shooting I really prefer the green to the red. I have a BSA green laser/light combo on my AT 44 PA, it mounts to the scope and weighs a TON.
