I just bought a CZ 634 and watched this video about repair of the 634.  It's not in English, but shows a lot of the construction.


From the video, it appears that you don't need a spring compressor to work on this rifle. It seems the spring is not under compression. Is that possible?

Yes, it is possible.
There are several other mfg/model airguns that the spring/ram are not preloaded to "require" a compressor to tear apart. But, precautions for safety sake is not a bad thing either.
