scope slipping

i was shooting my titan, and noticed my scope was slipping inside of my rings, and advice on how to fix it?

If the scope is slipping inside the rings and the rings are cranked down on the cylinder as tightly as is reasonable, make sure you are using the right diameter rings. If that checks out, try a little two-sided tape inside the top of both rings.

If the rings are slipping on the rail, try a little blue Loctite on the set screws.

     In my case it was the rings slipping on the receiver. Cranking down on the screws didn't help.  It didn't help me anyway, neither did Locktight. I had to get a scope stop with a pin in it.
     I think Yarp has you fixed up though. A shim inside the rings should do it.

I use a small strip (1/8" to 1/4" wide and 1/2" long) of two sided tape inside the lower half of the rings.  When you take a scope off that has been mounted this way, you will see what kind of a grip this method provides.

You may not have the correct torque on the ring screws.  They should be tight, but not too tight.  Too tight will distort the scope tube.  The scope manufacturer will have torque specifications for mounting.

If you lack the proper equipment, put the long end of the Allen wrench into the screws and tighten with the shorter end between thumb and forefinger.  Tighten in a criss - cross pattern like tightening the head bolts on an automobile engine.  They need to be tightened evenly.

I think it is the Hawke Match Series rings that have internal cushions built into the rings.  I used them on a Gamo rifle I had and they were holding just fine, never slipped.

I have had a real problem keeping a scope on my newest gamo rifle.

The stop pin went only so far into the mount and it did this....I am now looking for a new mount.
I tried to mount it direct to the rifle and it wallowed out the hole on the receiver on the rifle.  I am now going to try a BKL single mount and hope that holds.

Also looking for a good strong scope, this gun is very accurate, but it has a very hard recoil.

 The stop pin needs to fit tight into the pin hole without any slack. If the pin is loose fit with slack, it will hammer out a slot just like the one you have. Take the pin out and check fit before mounting rings. You may have to make a custom stop pin for correct fit as in good and tight.
 
 Stop pin depth, as you said it was too shallow, needs to be deep as possible, without holding the ring up. This depth also needs to be set before mounting the rings.  Too much stop pin depth can make the ring set sideways on the rail.

 A small hard steel pin in a larger soft pot metal hole, hammering against the hole is a recipe for disaster.

 Using a rail mounted scope ring stop behind the BKL rings would be a good idea.  This would be a good one, it actually has a rubber bumper shock absorber to protect your BKL scope rings.

Food for thought: Use the stop pin hole, it's there for a reason! If the BKL's slip, tightening the screws is not an option, you'll only strip 'em.
