Why do cheap stock centerpoint scopes get blurry when you zoom in

I have the nitro venom with the stock scope and if you turn the zoom up to past about 6, it target is so blurry its annoying. what is it about the design of these cheap scope that causes this to happen....cant they fix this issue or would a better piece of glass raise the price too high...seems pointless to include a zoom scope when you really cant use it as a zoom scope...just saying  LOL

Does the scope have a paradox adjustment?

If not on some scopes as the magnification goes up, eye placement becomes more and more important.  Our it could be that the scope just not worthy as well.

no, there is no parallax adjustment..it is set at 15 yards......what does SF stand for...does no adjustment mean that it would only be clear at all zoom levels at 15 yards...i was only shooting at 20 today

All ranges. In practical use you adjust to have the reticle and target in focus at the same time.

I've almost always found that when this happens it is due to eye-relief distance being too long. Otherwise it is eye-to-scope alignment. I set my adjustables to max and set the relief for that and scope height and stock comb also if possible.

Those two words explain the problem. The eye relief is so critical at higher magnification and the scope is adjusted to it's extreme and that makes it more difficult to get the proper focus on your target. An expensive scope gives you a tad bit more leeway in where your eye can be in relation (distance) to the scope. When the power is turned up you'll have to move your eye closer to the scope.

Well, lets see...You don't have AO - an Adjustable Objective and it doesn't sound like you have an SF knob or Side Focus parallax adjustment
which means that you have a fixed parallax scope. I'm curios as to how you know that the parallax is set to 15 yards. Most fixed parallax rifle
scopes are focused at 100 yards and you're shooting at 15 to 20 yards. The focus is fairly forgiving at the low magnification settings but, as stated
above, becomes very critical at the high magnification settings. Also, since the scope parallax is typically set to (focused at) 100 yards things will appear
rather fuzzy. The bargain scopes don't usually have great glass either and it's not uncommon to encounter the problems you are seeing - albeit fuzzy.
Sounds like you need to get a better scope with AO capability.

A.O. is a must IMO, as for Centerpoint scopes, I like them. For the price I think they are good scopes, of course their nothing compared to the big names, and there are bad apples in the bunch too, but they basically get the job done, at least for the type of shooting I do.

The truth is that your question answered itself. Cheap scopes are cheaply made. They are included as a extra whizz-bang to entice the buyer with a usable package deal. Most of the air gun package scopes are poorly made and barely adequate.
This goes for all makes. CP does make some very good scopes. There are better available at a similar price. There are much better out there for a substantial price increase. There are some good scopes in the under $150 range. Different brands, different features. Plenty of info here to search.

If he has a 3-9x32 mm from the AR series, then parallax is set at 50 yds according to Centerpoint.  centerpoint.crosman.com/scopes/ar22/CP392RG   No AO.   Eye relief 3.3 in. like many other scopes. 

Exit pupil is 3.5 mm.  Seems a little small?

I agree 100% Grieg...especially about the A.O. It is a MUST! I shoot mostly HPA/PCP so no worries about the harsh recoil of a magnum springer knocking the &^^& outta my CP's. Having said that though, my Benji Trail Hardwoods is still sporting the CP 3-9x40 that came with it and is still going strong after2500+ rounds. As you already stated, they are not "top of the line" optics but I'm quite happy with my 3 considering the low price.

Try zooming in and then turning the ring on the very front of  scope. I think it will clear up for you.

I tried two of the centerpoint 4-16x40 walmart scopes a couple years ago. Both had the same issue; they were unusable at anything over 6-8x. They just completely fogged out and were so eye relief sensitive as to be useless. Cheap scope defined, tk

that is exactly what i did as suggested by someone that PMd me.....pulled the front cap off....looked at a tree at 44 and 22 yards and turned the objective lens in until it cleared up.....all distances look clear except really close but 5 yards..i just then lower the zoom level back down to a lower setting and it clears up...

I may get in trouble for this but I want others out there that can not afford the high end scopes that the CHEAP chinese scopes have their place. I have a CP 3x9 32 on my springer and it is doing quite well. I have a Hammers 3x9 40 AO on my Disco and I love it. These scopes cost less than a $100 .I really hate to feel embarrased because I bought something I could afford. I am sorry that I did not buy American but it was all I could afford.

I had the exact same problem with my venom. Anything past 6 was blurry, no matter how far out I sited. I called Crosman, and they said to send it back for a replacement. That would have left me without a gun for at least a couple weeks, so I just lived with it until I could afford to replace the scope. I can probably still send it back, but the new AO scope (Hawke Sport HK3022) is so much nicer, I just really don't care now

When you move to a 4:1 ratio scope,,,versus a 3:1 ratio scope...  You're getting into a different league of sensitivity.  Experience, and Money is a big deal when you make that leap.  So is operator shooting/chekweld experience.  Not a "slam dunk" purchase...especially on the cheap.
For the same money you can get a very flexible and clear forgiving scope, in the 3:1 format. 
Heck...at 10x,  your 100yd target is the same as a using you're open sites at 10yds.
