Izzy 61?

I was wondering about your guy's thoughts on the IZH 61, and was wondering if there was any cheap way to up the power.

GREAT rifle, with a really nice trigger.  Easy to shoot.  Adjustable stock, so you can adjust the LoP to fit YOU.

NO the power is what it is. 
One of the problem is, some of the linkages will not take too much more strain.  I think someone put in a stronger spring, and the cocking arm linkage broke.  May have a similar problem with the trigger mechanism to hold back a stronger spring.

I have both the 60 and 61.  Very accurate but slow.  I don't recall seeing anyone modding the IZH.  I do recall seeing a video of a 60 made into a PCP, but disappeared rather quickly.  Something about a prototype.  I think several people have tuned them doing the normal things.  Polishing, deburing and tar or lube, with not to much of a gain.  This rifle is so light that I don't think it can be accelerated to much and maintain its accuracy and not sure how much more pressure can be put on the sear and maintain that beautiful trigger.

Absolutely great little rifles and a whole lot of fun! I have two of them and lucky to have one with the steel breech. Do not worry about FPS, it is a target rifle and a good one. The Russians make great barrels. By the way, I just received a IZH 53m. A great plinking Pistol!

If you searched by the Russian name ИЖ-60 you can find all sorts of interesting mods/upgrades. Unfortunately Google translate is not the best for translating. Bullpup config would be harder for 61 due to the bolt. Here's a link to bullpup mod to the 60:

Apparently there is PCP mod kit for these rifles as well but most likely will not hit the west.

I am using AIM RD Reflex on my IZH60.  I cut a Weaver to dovetail adapter in half so the loading chamber is not blocked and it works well enough.
