Thanks Joe.  I did watch it.  Good stuff.  It IS going to come with a rebuild kit and they said they'll carry the rebuild materials.

This has to do with travel expenses and it will vary greatly on each user. It only affects option 1 and 3. Some people have to travel short to long distances to fill their tanks. So missing from the calculation is time and gasoline cost for the traveling. This could be nominal for people that live 30 minutes from a fill station.

60 miles: ((60/20.2)x3.5)x6x15 = $935.64; 40 miles: $623.76; 20 miles: $311.88

You where on the ball part if only traveling 20 miles. But the costs go up fast if you consider the other distances. Also, not included in here is cost per hour of travel this could be all over the pace too.

No doubt.  Travel is a PAIN.  Let's not forget the TIME you waste DRIVING to the blasted shop.

I think it's going to come down to the ALPHA90 from airtanksforsale as linked by Joe or the Omega Compressor

My question is (1) Why does the Alpha90 suggest the dryer ($300) as a add on? Is it REALLY necessary? or just another ADD-ON to make people buy more?

THOUGHTS?!?!?! The Omega does seem more contained, seems to look better.  Doesn't need a dryer.  The TigerShark deluxe is definitely a nicer tank with all the fixings.  I'm wondering if that $300 is REALLY needed or not.

I'm trying to stay positive and this seems expensive.  But when you amortize it over 15 years, it's $153 per year for no pumping, fire when you want to, FUN! THANKS!!!

Ok, so option #3 may have a new life now.  I found out I can pick up a 432CF, 4500psi UN bottle/tank for $615+$100 shipping.  BRAND NEW!  Hydro testing required every 10 years.

My local scuba can fill it up for about $35 per fill.  That's about 270 gun refills per tank refill.  That's 9 months of shooting for $35. 

I would need a CGA 347 fill hose and guage.  That's $165.  A 45 minute used SCBA tank would be ultimately used to fill the gun.

Total cost for 15 years = $715 (tank) + $700 (refills) + $165 + $50 + 100 (gas) = $1,730

Honestly, this is more like OPTION 1 but the tank doesn't have a 15 year life span.  Long term cost wise, it may be cheaper than option 2 and without the hassle of rebuilding machines, etc...

Don't forget if you get a freedom 8 you have to be able to maintain 120 psi going into the compressor I use 130 and works smoother.  I got a 250 DeWalt oiless at Lowes on sale and if you are a vet you get 10% OFF.  Mine comes on at 150 and off at 210.  So it after first start and shutoff it usually comes on 1 time when filling from 3000 to 4500.  I think it was 259 dols.
