Where did you find a 98 for $40 more than a 95?
My question still stands. Where can I get a 98 for only $40 more than a 95?The price of a 95 is around $460 and the 98 is about $200 more.
Don't be bummed by AoA typically taking a few extra days to ship. It's not that they got your money and are not in a rush to get the rifle out. They actually take the rifle out of the box and test it to hopefully make sure when you get your rifle there is nothing wrong with it. You will get a filled out checklist of the things they inspected and a print out from the chrono showing the velocities they recorded. This is part of their service without any additional charges. The R11/HW98 is a great rifle and I am sure you will enjoy it as much as I have enjoyed mine.
Where in TX are you? There has been a lot of FT action heating up in TX. I started FT Matches in Granbury and now there are new FT matches in Dallas and Arlington. Come bring your R11, or TX. I hope you get one with a pretty stock but they are a dark stained beech. Every R11 I have seen all look identical. It's a great stock though.
The R11 is a great gun and gets even better as you shoot it. Put 1000 pellets down the tube and it will smooth up nicely. I find it becomes a very easy rifle to cock which I attribute to the heavy barrel. It seems to do some of the work for you. Try some CPL's and H&N FTT's. Mine and my dad's R11 seems to like those. Neither was crazy about JSB's. Have fun!
