Hatsan 125 Sniper Muzzle Brake Taken Completely Off

I took the muzzle brake off my 125 sniper. No easy task. The end has to be popped off with a screwdriver, then the brake must be cut off all the way down past the retaining nut (which is round ). Then since the nut is round I had to place the rifle in a vice and grasp the round retaining nut with vice grips  and hit the vice grips with a hammer to free the nut. It just unscrews after that and then the rest of the remaining brake has to be hit with a hammer and screwdriver to be pushed off the barrel. After all that there is still a metal washer at the bottom that just slides off. I put the end barrel piece from my at44 back on the 125 just to give it a halfway good grip to cock. It is  harder to cock now since the barrel is effectively shorter but no big deal for me. Nobody in the house but me can shoot it now! Noise does not seem to be louder with the brake removed and I suspect it is just there to aid in cocking. Any aftermarket brake that will fit the at44 should fit the 125 but not sure if it would be safe to grasp to cock the gun. I like the 125 much better with the huge hunk of plastic removed from the barrel as it obviously serves no purpose.

It's funny also that they list the length of the barrel to be 19.6". Mine is only 14". The rest is the cheap plastic can. I'm trying to devise a simple shroud that I can affix the front sight back to so I will have a bit more leverage on it.

Bravo to you! I have been contemplating doing the same thing however I am using the front sight with a peep rear and have been looking for a front sight that will fit on the end. By looking at your photos it appears that the front sight from an AT44 will slide in place as the space looks the same(except for the knurling). Thanks for the photos! I will have to give this a try as I have already emptied the "can".

IVe got two hatsan and have been thinking about doing the exact same thing

 I could see doing it if I had a nice muzzle break or metal air stripper that would look better than before when done and maybe add some function. My camo sniper looks pretty good with it on. On second though it may be acting as an air stripper and I'm not messing with it if it could affect the accuracy I getting from mine.

The At44 sight does fit and snug down on the end. I haven't figured out what I want to do with the end yet. It does seem to be a very short actual barrel.

There are a number of aftermarket muzzle brakes made of aluminum that mount using two allen screws.
I bought one in March for about $50 bucks.  Kind of expensive, very strong, looks great and fits Hatsan barrel perfectly (not a noise suppressor).   Used it on my Hatsan 135.

Sorry I can't be more specific about the manufacturer (TPA or something).........

I bought one in March for about $50 bucks.  Kind of expensive, very strong, looks great and fits Hatsan barrel perfectly (not a noise suppressor).   Used it on my Hatsan 135.

I will probably do that then. It is very tough to cock without that little extra length. I do not have a chrono but seems to shoot faster without that thing on there.

did you find a big difference in the poi I removed my internals and at 20 feet i was hitting almost 10" higher not sure if that is common or if i have some other issue going on I bought the gun as a refab (.25 vortex) and can see were last baffle was clipped by the pellet doesn't seem to be clipping now now and at 20 feet pellet in pellet took it out to 25 yrds with some exact kings I got about a 10" group. didn't try the 25 yrds without the baffles to loud for my back yard without them.

Man, I did not notice that much of a difference. The gun seems a little faster ( based off my ear not a chrony) that's about it. Also a little louder but still ok for my backyard. I also have a vortex piston.

tore it down today and the piston seal has a BIG chunk out of it my be at lower velocities it effects the poi more I don't have a chrony either so i don't know what fpe  it was shooting but it only made it half way thru a 1/2" pine board so i figured the seal was bad

Yeah,fix that seal and you should be good to go! The Moderator on these guns,to me, seems to be more of a cocking aid than anything else.
