Trail,Titan,or bone collector?

I can't decide between the Titan trail or bone collector all in 22
I am about to get the money  and can't decide, they all seem nice and accurate, I'll be putting a CP 4-16 on it can someone please tell me skmething that will help me decide??

Of the three, Trail. Same innards as the Titan, better stock and Picatinny rail for the scope. Gamo, okay but support is no where as good as Crosman. Tons of info on any of the three in the GTA library.

I have had the Trail, NEVER again, unless it is a proven gun with a Tuna trigger.

I bought a Titan in .22 cal. Really liked it right off the bat and still do. Of course I had to put an aftermarket trigger on it. Just count on buying one.

I liked it so much I bought one in .177 cal and unfortunately I could never get it to shoot for me. Put a trigger on it and tried a ton of different pellets. Sold it.

Bought another one in .177 cal and same story. Will sell it.

So one out of three for me with the Titan. Not very good odds.

Bought a Diana 34 in .22 cal with the T06 trigger. Will never sell it. Doesn't need a trigger either.

I impulse bought a Bone Collector as my re-entry into AG's, and so far it has been great. I like the gas piston and the suppressor.

Now, I'm scheming to get a full tune XS28 from Flying Dragon.

I owned 2 D-34s and regret selling them. Both springs broke within 500 shots, one got a full tune, the other my tuner refused to tune. Both got a Maccari spring kit, and we have a member here that can tell you what the D-34 .177 can do. Do not take my word for it ask him, and he got the untuned one.

I personally would either go Trail or Bone Collector.  The barrel lockup and the Titan isn't very good for a lot a shooting. 

Or, you could give Mike Melick (flyingdragonairrifles) a call.  I would recommend either a B-26 with a full tune or if you want the Gas Ram, an XS46U would be perfect.

Both come in .22 caliber

Almost all models end up with a bad gun.
Even the TX 200 get complaints.
I wouldn't worry too much about it.

I have had several non German springers, not one of them has been accurate enough to keep.

I also have a Diana 34, Beeman R9, Beeman HW 77K and a FWB 300s.  Every one has been an excellent rifle and all have been very accurate.  Also got to use a Beeman R1 in .22, same deal, extremely accurate and a joy to shoot.

The non German rifles include 3 Gamos, 3 Air Hawks, 2 Remington Express, 1 Stoeger X3, 1 Benjamin 397 and low powered Rugers, Crosmans and Gamos.   Not a keeper in the bunch.  Not one.

Missing is just not as much fun as hitting, and missing is a vexation to the spirit.

Try a TX200MK3 and you might find a keeper that is not German. Just sayin'

So it is true every production gun may have a problem.  But if one was to buy a xs25 (d34 clone) fully tuned by Flying Dragon Airguns for $215 shipped to lower 48 states free that may be a good choice.  Some say it shoots as good or better than a d34 out of the box. Also as long as Flying Dragon is around it will be warrantied.  There a few other choices also at Flying Dragon also.  There is also after market kits if you like to tune it yourself for the xs25.  JMO

I found the Bone Collector to be straight shooter.
I am new to air guns and new to the Bone Collector but I like the BCBW.

I was told from the start not to get a Gamo AG but from the get go the BCBW was the gun.
Looks goods, feels goods, not too heavy and as said straight shooter.

The only TX200 I have used was indeed very good, I shot it almost as well as the R1, on the day I got to shoot them.  Both were .22 and JSB 18.1s were used in both.  Yep, there are certainly non German alternatives, my CZ s200 PCP rifle is one.

If I were to get a new Chinese springer, it would be an XS25 or XS26 from Flying Dragon.  Probably with a full tune by Mike M.  That way, a lot of variables are removed from the "air gun lottery", so the chances of winning are higher.

For some reason I'm drawn to the Air Hawk / XS-25 rifle, it just seems like the potential is there, it just has to be released. 

Of the Gamos, the Silent Cat did the best, better than the Whisper and the Hornet.  Cocking was easier on the SC but velocity also was higher.  Weight is pretty low and being all synthetic it is a good walking around rifle.   Initial cleaning of the Gamo barrels revealed that the bores were smooth and free of tight spots.  Triggers were pretty heavy, not good at all but that can be fixed, if a Tuna trigger will fit.  Another thing, the SC stock is very comfortable. 

Don't know about the Benjamin piston guns but the 397 had a very tenacious paint in the bore that paint remover could not remove, nor any other chemical I tried.  The shooter has to put far more fpe of energy into the 397 than they have to put into a springer for equal fpe out.  Too bad because the 397 is such a nice size and solid build and idea weight.  Comparing a .177 to a .22 392, the 392 gets more fpe out for the same fpe of pumping energy.

This is one thing we can agree on. I also have a little Tomahawk. She is not the most accurate rifle, but she is not bad. She is not powerful at all (AVG 727.49    FPS 10.16 FPE), but she is one fun rifle. The cherry 5 shot group at 32 yards is my avatar.

We also agree if you go Chinese get it from Mike @ Flying Dragon.

How did you like the R1? I have been thing about getting that or a HW80 or possibly a HW90.

Read reviews, ask advice then buy what your heart and head tells you. If you buy an airgun that your heart isnt set on and turns out to be just a good or ok airgun you will most likely be unhappy with your purchase.

I would get a refurb Dana 34 compact from AGD. You get a qualitiy airgun with a RWS 3x9x40 scope for $169. Buy pellets or what ever you need to make it $179 and it ships free.
