FX Whisper breech seal and shroud O ring

Hi,

I have a few questions regarding the FX Whisper I bought:
- After cleaning the barrel, looking down the barrel with the bolt in foward position, I noticed light coming in between the pellet probe and the breech seal (top side of the pellet probe). I already changed the seal, but that didn't help. I also noticed a bit a air escaping from the seal when shooting a pellet without the magazine. Is this normal? If not, how can I solve it?
- I noticed there is an exposed O ring at the start of the shroud, see attachment. It looks like the shroud should be covering this, and be sealed by, this O ring. Is this normal?

If your FX Whisper barrel is attached to the receiver like on my old FX Excaliber, then it is held on by set screws which may have come loose in your case. Never had to take mines apart yet, but I'll have to eventually, to change the breech o-ring when it fails.

Hi,

are you referring to the breech seal or shroud seal problem?

The shroud is held by a small screw on top, see previous image. It screws through a hole in the shroud into the piece attached to the receiver that also has the shroud O ring on it. I don't see how loose screws on the barrel can influence the position of the shroud relative to the receiver. It looks to me as if the hole for the screw is not in the correct position.

Disregard this as a comment from one who knows nothing---but--
nothing is a complete seal and there is always a bit of escaping force in all guns.
See the gap between the forceing cone and the cylinder on a revolver.
