My Tempest

I bought one from Dr. Beeman in San Rafael. I put a new breech seal last year. It had become flattened from being stored with the barrel closed. We leave the Tempest and Izzy barrels unlatched now to prevent the seal from getting compressed. Anyway it never was a tack driver regardless of the alleged .25" groups published in Beeman's catalogs. It was supposed to get 425fps back then with whatever pellet they were using. I checked the speed today after 30 years and it is just below 420fps. I do have a new spring, piston seal and another breech seal but I guess if it isn't broke...I think I read somewhere some folks were sliding in some type of shim material around the barrel axle in order make the pistol a little more accurate. Right now it holds about 2" at 10 yards. Nothing to write about any thoughts?

Yes, the grips on that Tempest are really nice looking.  And you've kept the whole pistol in great shape for being 30 years old. 

And here is a Hurricane in similar condition for you that's for sale.  http://monterey.craigslist.org/spo/4528696974.html  You might want to talk him down a little on price first, haha.

I had a .22 Hurricane too.
Didn't like it.
Traded for FWB65 which I traded for a HW55T which I sold for a boat load of money to somebody in Spokane.

Makes a very pretty chess set as well. 75% of the cost of a chess set is in the carving of the knights, and good wood just increases the value and you have an heirloom to pass down.
