22 cal 880

It seems Daisy doesn't make a 22 cal rifle anymore so I was wondering if anyone had retro-fitted a 22 cal barrel to a 880 valve?

sure... is called the 22sg... find a used one... you are better off.

It should be possible to turn down a Crosman .22 cal barrel to fit a Daisy 880.    I have thought about doing this myself, as the used 22SG's are way to expencive.

Just make sure that all of your measurments are perfect, then cut the transfer section of the crosman barrel, turn down the breach end to the correct OD, then cut to length, crown, and turn down the section that fits inside the plastic of the front sight.    I think that is all that is needed.   Perhaps a custom bolt and transfer section, though probably not needed.

Also make sure to mark it so that you do not confuse it with one of your .177 cal Daisy 880's.

I will likely do this in the near future with one of my Daisy 880's.

A .22 caliber pellet will fit through the breech on my 880, so doesn't look like any problems there.  I have a .22 discovery barrel that I had thought about trying to use.  Anyone know of any .22 soda straw barrels?

   these are PB rifle barrel liners. Dimensionally about the same as a soda straw barrel.

I tried to buy a 22sg barrel from Daisy but they are no longer available. The liners look interesting.
