About that shooting bench

 Been following about how some shooters are using a portable shooting bench, is this what some of you shooters were referring to.

That work bench looks a little too low and too small, but it may work.  It is hard to tell from the picture.

The Amazon bench looks like what I'm currently using.  It is low.  It is small.  But it clamps nicely on the uprights for my paint roller rest and the package works nicely for me, though I could probably do better.  I've been experimenting building shooting sticks as well.  I'm still learning and playing.

I was planning to build one with the saw horse legs, but stumbled onto a great deal on this portable bench at Cabelas. I picked up on sale $79, but they discontinued this version right after I bought mine and only have the XL available. The shooting table is a bit small, but I like overall weight and portability. I do like the aeroaces design and I may end up adding a bigger table to mine... or maybe just add an extension.

I made one like Mr.Sasquatch and Retatcdude. Works well and the legs fold up for storage.

I picked up the same one last year at the same price. I really like it.

Edit: I should mention for anyone picking up this one or a model similar, the seat tilts and locks forward or back and locks at increments. I like to set it all the way back, lean forward and rest my elbows comfortably. Seems I shoot more stable like that.
The "V" on the arm his gun is resting on has foam rollers on each side. My  gun is very picky about my artilery hold but actually still works great off the rollers.

  I do like those blue folding leg sets, can do wonders with them, and i might be going by a Cabela's tomorrow if it don't rain, will be heading by the Hamburg PA store on my bike, i will look in the bargain basement maybe there will be one in there, if i find one, i will check it out, if i think i might like it I will put on layaway and make the trip next week with my car. i do have a heavy duty shooting bench, it has 4 legs 1 1/4" steel pipe for the legs, they screw into the bottom of the bench and the legs are adjustable for height and irregular terrain ect, it is too heavy to carry around, it was ok for groundhog hunting with high power and that was 10yrs ago, now that i am retired,  looking for ideas for a lighter setup,

I've used the similar black and decker horse and just cut out a table top, screwed  it to a 2x4 and clamp it in. works well, a little light.  this one looks a little sturdier.

I use a folding table I got at Home Depot. It is perfect for me and my little shooting partner. Couple of nice chairs, plenty of room for both guns, pellets, ash trey, and coffee cup.

I've experienced some instability with the rugged buddy folding legs when testing for accuracy.  Don't lean on the table as the folding hinge will flex a little up and down based on the body weight you apply through your elbows.

Yup you're right about that Jeff.They are a tad light but for me it's a fine compromise for the portability and storage.

I have one of these by Black & Decker.

The top is comprised of two 3/4" plywood pieces, 24" x 31.25" with two 1-1/4" holes in each upper corner for an umbrella and an edging around the edge so that stuff would not roll off.  It's secured underneath by two 3/4" boards that allow the table to lay flat and be secured.
(sorry don't have a picture available at this time).  I've been looking at ideas, as I'd like to improve it.

In terms of height, if you have back problems (or even if you don't) think seriously about trying to have a table that's positioned so you sit a little more upright.  I say that, having a bad back and knowing how it feels after leaning over a while.
