shopping for a .22 nitro piston tomorrow

i got the go ahead today from the wife to get another air rifle. im looking to get a nitro piston springer in .22. my budget is $300 - $325.
im looking for something high powered but of course accuracy matters as well. rifle will be used for various varmits (woodchucks mostly) and for some plinking. im 25 and in decent enough shape that i dont see cocking to be much of a problem.
from what ive seen im stuck between these 3

https://www.pyramydair.com/product/benjamin-nps-air-rifle?m=2055
https://www.pyramydair.com/product/walther-talon-magnum-with-nitro-piston?m=1706
i have seen some a fair number of good reviews for the npss, but havnt heard much about the NP XL. the talon is the one im leaning towards and i have heard both good and bad about it.
anyone with experience with any of these, or with suggestions are welcome.

I'd give the Talon a slight edge in power, but with the NPXL you can get a better trigger from Charlie Da Tuna - and the difference is VERY noticable. The trigger trumps the small power difference IMO

I just got the NPXL,an while it will build up your left arm for sure!!! I have been impressed with it across the board so far. The weaver rail is one feature that shine's also(far better mount's to be found for scope's with them).

Before the Trails came out I was looking at a Nitro SS for hunting. At that time NYS DEC had a proposal to allow AG's over 800fps to be used for hunting small game. My 22Whisper wouldn't cut it, and like-wise the Nitro wouldn't, if 800fps was going to become law.
Shortly after that, the Trail XL came out and it had no problem exceeding 800fps even with heavy pellets, so I got one (my XL1100 does 825fps with the 16.2 gr Predators - into one ragged hole at 30 yards). At the end of Winter, the DEC adopted the rule change, but dropped it to 600fps minimum. I still prefer the increased power and range of the XL.
And there are pluses to the welded-on Weaver rail, a nice 3-9AO CenterPoint scope, and the very good sling with a well designed front mount that doesn't interfer with cocking the gun.
Just be ready for a 10+ lb. gun with 47-48 lb. of cocking force needed !

well my purchase is being postponed till monday or tuesday. ive got my mind pretty much set on the benji now. theres just too many complaints about the talon falling apart, cracking, or otherwise breaking. that leaves the benji and the npss and i would prefere the extra power for the same price. i took a look at ezmans benji and it is just
.
i wanted to ask how much work is involved in changing out the trigger and also the deburring i have been reading about people doing. i have owned several ags over the years but other than trigger adjustment they have stayed pretty much the way they were when i got them. any links to any guides there might be would be appreciated.

And you don't need a compressor to open up the XL for a home tune.

And as far as changing the trigger blade, you don't even have to pull the entire trigger group. Just an e-clip and pin - and you're done.

When i decided to get the NPXL1100 ,i ordered the gold trigger 2 days before i ordered the NPXL,so the old trigger never had my finger on it,it is packed away in AG tackle box with other stock triggers.
you want power,go with the 1100. .22

i am greatly impressed with my Nitro piston .22. i think the NP's are great shooters. my first one, did break however, so i would keep the recipt close, but don't let that discourage you. i wouldn't hesitate at all, to buy another, and i still might buy a XL1100... my NP is such a tack driver, i just love it. had a few quirks with it, but i'm working those out with crosman.

Big Block, many airguns have nitro pistons. Which one do you have? A Benjamin Trail NP?
