i have a feeling that tom/bb will be pushing out review: part 5 (accuracy) soon.
what is your take on the crony tests and/or the fact that daisy got involved, and sent him a gun to test?
with his old gun
https://www.pyramydair.com/blog/2014/03/daisy-880-part-2/
he got about 615fps. (witch: i thought was low)
with a new in box from p.a.
https://www.pyramydair.com/blog/2014/04/daisy-880-part-3/
he got only 545fps. (witch: i thought was broken)
when daisy got involved, they sent him a new/inspected gun
https://www.pyramydair.com/blog/2014/04/daisy-880-part-4/
and he got about 660fps. (witch i thought was comparable to mine)
what do you get? how do you feel that the accuracy test will go?
do you feel that this report is biased by tom's association with crosman, or by the people of daisy?
let us all know what you see from your view.
thanks,
rob

What I see from my view is two guns from different lots (one used, one new off the shelf at random) both turned in sub standard results.
The manufacturer didn't like where it was going with such a high profile and respected member of the airgun fraternity doing the test, so they sent a gun hand selected and tested to perform close to their advertised specs.
That's cheating..
Go buy 4 guns new, all the same model, one each from some reputable online retailers, and local stores.
Follow the manual for lubrication on each of them, then test them, that should give us, the average man on the street, an idea of what to expect from that model if we bought one.
Not some skewed test that has been tainted with a prepped gun..
Oh, and how do I think the accuracy test will go?
Probably very well, as by then daisy will have shipped them the same lot of pellets they used to test the gun.
After the test I would like to see the gun disassembled and inspected to see what (if anything) daisy did to the internals to boost the performance and accuracy.
Just like a tech inspection after a race.. Just to keep it fair...
Just my feelings...

I make 2 predictions;
ON THE DATE WHEN US TROOPS ARE ISSUED AN Energy Pulse Weapon,
1. The US Soldier will have on his person a version of the Colt 1911.
2. He will be aiming the NEW Weapon at someone carrying an AK47.

Yes, all the numbers seem low compared to the one we got for my son about 1.5 years ago.
Tom used a 7.9gr pellet and 10 pumps for his numbers. Repeating what you said, his numbers were 615, 545, and 660fps. Or energies of 6.6, 5.2, and 7.6fpe.
My son's chronied at 675fps with a slightly heavier 8.3gr pellet for an energy of 8.4fpe.
For reference, it gave 9.8fpe with 10.5gr pellets on 12 pumps.

Must have got a good one (except for lawyer trigger). Only thing I changed was to put a tube of silicone caulk in the stock. With Tasco 4x and destroyer pellets at 10 yards offhand groups about 2" which is as good as I can shoot offhand. Need to get set up with a rest to really check accuracy.

I lost interest in the entire thing. He offered me a guest blog. When I said yes.... they stopped contacting me. I asked for additional info... ..... crickets. So I have not read passed blog number 2. I just don't care
Just pure speculation on my part. Take it as you will. I see a chip on his shoulder.
As I have said at least a dozen times before. Info and test results posted by our own members here are far more important to me than any other test. Our forum members are willing to share, show mods, simple and complex, and ....frankly, add to our site.
Every new or used AG I have purchased I read reviews and threads HERE on GTA to make my decision. Didn't even look anywhere else. For instance I will have a new to me Daisy 1000, built by Hatsan here shortly. I searched this forum and found GREAT info , including info from one of our mods saying the potential these springers had. So I paid for it. Didn't look elsewhere for info.

I agree with stony on this one on some points, I look to real users reviews, not someone who makes their living reviewing guns and who were "provided" a gun by XX company...
Pay your money, get a random gun off the shelf, and shoot it like you own it (because you do) and then give us a report of what you think you got for your hard earned dollars..
I never put much into guys who open a box, shoot a few shots, then review it like they have owned it for years..
Giving a glowing review, hoping to get another gun from the same company.
I am real big on reviews that give me updates on how it is doing a year later, or x number of hundreds of rounds later..

Yea, I stopped reading the blog as well. I like the Daisy 880 and now the Daisy 901, these are good guns.
It seems that most of the actual user/owner reviews on the Daisy 880 and Daisy 901 are significantly better than that represented in BB's blog. Though the review of the one inspected by Daisy is reasonable so far (read only out of curiousity).
