I'm getting real interested in PCP.

As a confused newbie I need to ask:

What other pieces of pluming hardware would one have to purchase to make this tank functional for PCP air gun use?

   At minimum a Joe B. valve and hose.

used SCBA (CGA-347 connector) valve and a fill hose to fit it

used SCBA valves can be bought 10-20 bucks shipped

fill hose about 150.00 MAC 1

Depends on what you are filling, if you are filling a gun that takes 3000 psi that is good, but if you have a gun that is maybe 1500~2000 psi, you might want to get a regulator also, not say that a regulator wouldn't help with the 3kpsi fills also just needed more when you are trying to throttle 4500 psi down to 1500 psi with a manual valve...

Thank you Al. That sounds like good advice. I have wondered about that very problem.

While attempting to educate myself on the world of PCP shooting, I discovered the Airhog company and their products. They sell a flow control valve called the Jubilee. While obviously not a regulator, for filling lower PSI tanks on certain guns, this valve appears to be an excellent, much less expensive compromise between a pricy regulator and none at all.

Airhog also has an excellent video showing how to use the valve.

I'm still in the research phase of my PCP education, so any opinions on the Jubilee valve will be happily accepted with an open mind.

Beeing a 15 min tank and 3000 PSI it could be handy for a disco or FD PCP.  Don't think I have seen a 15 min tank before.

   The 15 min size are used as emergency escape tanks.  Strictly for getting the heck outta Dodge, or for a rescuer getting somebody else out for trouble.
