Being somewhat new to Air-rifles , i was intrigued when i stumbled across the Benjamin Katana. it's obviously a go between a Marauder and a Discovery.
I do like the look of the stock. So what happened with this rifle?

It was a limited production gun about 3-4 years ago now. When Benji ran out, they ran out. Sad because it was a great gun. But at the Mrod price point, a gun to bridge the gap was not really needed IMO. But most would pay pretty well for a used one.

yep from what i can gather the stock and the trigger were the only noticeable differences, oh and possibly the valve settings or hammer.

It was a Disco with a better stock and MRod trigger group. I believe these were made for PA.

I managed to purchase a used one in very good condition. I also was able to get a Katana Stock and will eventually get a MRod trigger group, intension is to make a .177 Katana.

Was able to snatch a new Katana stock a couple of years back. Great platform for my Disco Double .25 project.
I modded the stock a bit too.

Yeah...discontinued. I didn't like the look of the trigger guard.

I think Gene has one ,i bought a custom disco from Gene awhile ago with a katana stock and what a shooter it is with a bnm shroud ,breech ,adjuster,maruder trigger,and challenger trigger guard its a bull barrel in black and stock as well ,its way better then a stock disco ...ask Gene or soon he will chime in ......jorge

I believe the barrel was chocked on that model. A friend of mine owns one in .22, the trigger is sweet and stacks the pellets.

I tried to find one of these stocks for a custom prod project a while ago. Couldn't find one, outside of PA's old page "out of stock".

Thanks EZ! and Lil' Sis I was hoping for a parts breakdown and part number list. One review states that the Katana barrel was choked whereas the Discovery barrel is not. Just wondered if that barrel was truly different. And if that is the case,, i would love to try the Katana barrel on my Discovery.

I see that Dave beat me to it by posting the manual which also describes the barrel. Interesting that neither the manual or parts list is on the Crosman website. Even if out of production they usually have it posted. I think most of the parts based on the 2260 (Discovery, Challenger, etc) can be mixed as Crosman likes to use the same parts on multiple models. Not an expert, just a person with enough knowledge to be dangerous to myself and those around me.

Indeed, but that barrel is a bit if a puzzle, because neither the Disco or the 2260 was choked.

What I really think.

Marketing is a cut-throat calling. Sometimes I do think that offering a odd tid-bit like the Katrina, even though it’s only going to be a limited offering, is like chumming the water for sharks. Make the customer either bit right now or wish they had.

Remember the CZ s200’s for $400 and change? Limited time, they are gone. Remember the Crosman Challenger for $397? Limited time, they are gone. Rememeber the Hammerli Pneuma for $299? Are a dozen others. It preys on the minds of the "I'll get around to it someday" folks, knowing they got around to it too late.

It’s the “bite now or wish you had” philosophy. Can see it being played out with everthing from plasma TV’s to 2014 Ford F-150’s.

If you really want one, then either spend the major $ top build one (and here you’d have a wider choice of stocks) or wait your time until one comes up for sale at a reasonable price (and POUNCE on it like a blind tom-cat when a mouse runs over its foot).
