Unofficial 75 yard Rested Air Rifle Match #1

I know this isn't a thing, but figured it may be fun

I'm generally happy to hit an 8" target at 75 yards, but with my newer air rifle i'm hoping to do better!

Anyone care to post 75 yard shots?
 Lets say 10 shots at 75 yards?

Here is the 8" target.

A little off topic here... but isn't vertical stringing like that a sign that you have a lot of deviation in FPS? Like a bad seal somewhere or something?

The only reason it did that because i was using a 500fps rifle and it isnt powerful enough to reach 75 yards so i aim about 10" high. I kept going lower until i got closer to the bullseye

Very impressive. Here's a 100 yrd group outa my NPXL 1100 .22 currently don't have a 75 yrd group photo

Not to rob the thread but I wouldn't mind seeing any long range airgun groups

Good shooting then!  I'm pretty sure I wouldn't even hit the paper at 100 yards with a springer.

My TX breaks 6"-8" balloons all day long at 100 yards, and I'm not even a good shot.
I used H&N FFT and held over to the last bar on reticle. (SR PRO reticle, like my avatar)
There is a YouTube video of a shot at 161 yards, breaking a balloon, holding over, and doping for wind.  I think that was a TX200 too?

And yeah, my 500XS is a few years old, i'm not even sure it truly does 500fps as stated.. Maybe only like 400fps, never tested.
Would love to see more entries! I know there are some incredible shooters on this site!

Okay I guess I will be the first "darksider" to post a target. I did the scoring as best I could with a wadcutter type pellet and used the method that if the shot touched the higher ring than the higher score counts. Also my target was flipped and I illustrated the shifting winds with the red line that would be the bottom. P.S. there are 3 shots in that little cluster above the 8. The target was lasered at 76 yards.

So I am happy with it, personally I don't think of this exercise as a represantation of the guns accuracy, in my case (at least) it illustrates my own crappy ability to dope the wind. Which by the way has been absolutely terrible for target shooting the past week: all day shifting 10 mph gusts  , I mean I can work with a steady wind, heck I can even manage in a gusting wind if it is blowing in the same direction but when the wind is literally shifting 180 degrees every 30 seconds it is frustrating as heck  . So that would be the reason for the horizontal stringing, and that one nasty little flier  .

If the wind calms down I may shoot another set of 10 just for kicks. BTW kudos to you FrozenVapors I really enjoy the longer distance stuff and sure hope this "unofficial" 75 yard match becomes official  .

Going to update this post tonight with my newest after fixing some slight adjustments on my scope

After a few hours, and countless adjustments, i've finally got decent grouping at 75 yards! Kept running into the house, telling myself it would be the last target i print, then going out, and doing it again. Two hours later, i finally settled with this guy! Only one real flier I think this is as good as i can ever do with my 500XS. The thing isnt powerful enough

That is really great shooting guys. I cant wait to try this. I can only shoot about 40 yds here at home so just keep target at 32 yds. I am in process of setting up range at my place in country though. I hope can keep this going till I can get set up and try it. It is amazing me what a pellet gun can do. I have shot rimfire and centerfire rifles and pistols all my life, now i wish I had tried air rifles a long time ago.

cant print out the target because my printer is out of ink,

so ill use one of those gamo cardboard/paper targets.

they are smaller than than the target you posted to print,
but will still show if im shooting bad LOL

Excellent shooting Vapor  I really want to shoot another target but man o man has the wind been bad lately, 24/7 it's constantly gusting  . Hopefully there will be a lull one of these days....
