2289 Chrono Connect Numbers Seem Right??

I’ve completed my 2289 build and would like to know the power she has.  I don’t have a real chronograph so I downloaded Chrono Connect Mobile Pro for my ipad. 

The app seems to give some consistent numbers just not sure how accurate they are.

The Power Modifications to my 2289:
     •  Steel Breech
     •  18” Barrel
     •  Polished Trigger
     •  Lighter Trigger Spring with Guide
     •  Extended Bolt Probe
     •  Transfer Port Poly Tubing Modification
     •  Flat top piston features a brass head, a stainless steel nut, and a 6061 aluminum body with a delrin 
         sleeve for a very rigid and smooth design.
     •  Flat top valve with the exhaust port angled, the stem has been turned to improve flow and it's
         been faced.
     •  Heavier Hammer Spring
     •  Stainless Non-slip Pump Pin

The Power which is the average of 3 shots using CP 14.3 grain pellets:

Can you tell us more about this app?  Does it use decibel levels to estimate velocity?  Not sure what other data it could be working off of.

I was thinking they were a little stout as well but maybe they are close.

The gun stock was shooting around 460 fps at 10 pumps according to Chrono Connect Pro which seems to be in the right ball park.  Although, a little lower than the 480 fps stated by Crosman which is to be expected.  I also have a Crosman M4-177 which is supposed to shoot around 630 fps but according to the Chrono Connect Pro it's shooting in the 560 range with pellets and a little stronger with bbs but nothing near 630 fps.

It's probably close.  Maybe i'll have to invest in an F1.

Here's a link to the app, http://www.chronoconnect.com/mobile.html which basically measures the speed between the sound of the gun firing and the pellet hitting it's mark.  You set all the parameters in the app before using it such as target distance, muzzle to device distance and muzzle height distance to device.  Then you enter your pellet information, caliber, weight and shape.

i like the chrono connect app,

works great for finding the bell curve on PCP guns.


even if the numbers arent dead on,it will still consistently show the rise and fall of velocity when tuning.

ive been using it for probably close to a year or so
