Bought a second Blue Streak 'cause I liked my first one so much. It was delivered last week, but I just got a chance to mess with it yesterday. Serial number is 335xxx and does not have Racine stamped on it. I believe that makes it a Benjamin/Sheridan built in 1980.

My intention was to check accuracy and if acceptable, send it to Mac1 for a Steroid treatment. Problem is, the rifle will not pump up. It takes the first pump, but does not build pressure after that. I assume the intake valve is not seating??? Anyway, with only one pump it barely shot a pellet 20 feet. Do not want to risk getting a pellet stuck half-way down the bore. Is there anything I can try short of a complete teardown to get it to pump up?

Hmm, sounds like the piston cup seal is shot. Yes,try oiling it up and working it in. Even though it was built in 1980 I believe Benjamin built them there in Racine becaeu they moved over there from ST Louis Missouri. Im surprised it doesnt say Racine? IF the pump cup is shot it is time to reseal /cleanout everything inside. Make sure you ask MAC-1 for the adjustable piston head for your piston rod. Thats a perfect time to improve the efficiency .

Your assumption is correct. You build up pressure with one pump but the intake valve is not seating so it leaks back out when you extend the pump arm for another stroke. The intake valve is the weakest seal. On the Sheridans I resealed the intake seal was distorted and came apart. If it is still whole, lubricating it may help it seal again.

Keeping one or two pumps in the gun while stored will keep the valve seals from distorting and coming apart in the future.

I removed the front plug and pulled the piston. Piston itself and down inside the pump tube are very dirty with greenish-gray muck. Obviously was not maintaned very well, bone dry... no oil. I cleaned the piston and put a little oil on the cup and reassembled, then oiled the pivots. I will pump and dry fire it a few times a day over the next week or so. Maybe it will flush debri through and allow the valve to seat. I hope so. Would like to know how it shoots before dumping more money into it.

I personally never had one that didn't shoot well     ,   but ya never know    they are not too bad to break dow and reseal   you can remove vlave nut by grinding down a small socket     into a square    I just picked up a new old stock   silver streak    never fired  going to test it today
