First off: this stock isn't wood. It is an engineering foam, but since it holds the action and fits to the shoulder I figure it belongs in here. The foam material is about the hardness of dried basswood. It does have some "spring" in it.
The rifle is, of course, a target arm, and thus aesthetics are somewhat incidental.
I put the stock in a milling machine:, and first ran a 1/2" cutter through it to rough it out, followed by a 7/8" core box router bit for the forearm airtube radius. After the forearm radius was established, the 1/2" cutter was placed back in the mill to finish the channel. It was also used to cut the relief for the rear barrel band. In hindsight, I should have bought a long flute 1/4" endmill for the purpose, as it would have saved considerable chisel work.
I'm going to use a little Bisonite to fill some voids and "bed" the striker/valve section of the airtube; everything forward of the valve screws is completely free-floating. However, this isn't much of a comfort... the stock can flex into the tubes with moderate hand pressure, so an entire laminated stock might be next...
