well, I been enjoying it so much my arm is a tad sore. probably about 500 pells today I may order a soft kit for it from jm, as it seems over sprung, hold sensitive and shooting way over 12 fpe IMO, but my chrony has a broad head stuck in it at the moment so don't know exact.....

Josh, I put the Pro-Mac  kit in mine and it is sweet ! Quiet, smooth and powerful.

its quite and powerful, no buz what so ever, but my god it feels as if it has a 3lb piston in it, tries to jump away from you lol.
I did snag a pic of first group with jsb 8.4 at 22yds, the got better throughout my shooting session..

That's the first time I ever heard a chrony shot with a bolt; it's almost funny were it not that you're out some bucks and the use of your poor chronometer.

it is funny, I bought it from a pawn shop for $20 so my feelings aren't hurt in the least.

Congrats on the Sporter. You should get a new chrony ASAP. At first I thought the hold sensitivity issue might be do to internals, but your groups look pretty dang good. Maybe I'm just used to shooting my Sporters and have adapted to them. Glad your rifle arrived safe and sound.

I have a feeling this thing may have been rebuilt and oversprung at some point..

You could be right, it shouldn't slam that hard. There is practically no bounce or thud with mine. I'll bet there's an added weight in the piston or a really heavy top hat on the spring. Tear it down and check it out, it isn't that hard.

That's a surprise, but maybe it's still the original seal. By the way here are the measurements from the original spring from mine.
12 5/8" long
41 coils counting the ends
.118 thick.

How does that compare with what's in yours ?

41 coils at 12 1/4 in and idk wire size batteries in caliper dead, and they never came with a leather seal....

It was a home made leather seal and I replaced it with a maccari kit and seal shot it a while and moved it along to a new owner.
