I couldn't resist any longer. A little over a week ago I picked up an Air Hawk Elite. It came with the 3-9x40ao scope and usual crappy mounts. I took my time with it and cleaned, deburred, and polished where it needed. Replaced the shredded piston seal and found a suitable breach seal. The rifle was a detuned model so I fitted a spare HW spring I had laying around and got relatively smooth power. I shot it that way for a few days, but today I decided to drop in a Vortek PG2 kit. Transformed a decent rifle into a smooth shooter. 13.5fpe and butter smooth everything. The included scope seems to be holding so far. I did mount it in a one piece mount that holds still on the not so great dovetail. I'm going out with it this afternoon to see what she can do at farther ranges. It's been a great project so far. Might eventually refin the stock.

Mulby,
That is quite the harem of European darlings you have collected. You couldn't resist adding a Chinese clone? You sir, have it bad.
Anyway, welcome to China. Glad to hear you are having success with the AH Elite. Personally I would love to see some head to head comparison target groupings between the Air Hawk and some of your finer rifles. One simple criteria - putting lead on target. Once the Air Hawk is broken in and you've found the favorite pellet and all (second screw mod?) please consider posting some targets.

The Vortek kits are awesome. The best drop in mod you can buy. Have one in my Ruger Air Magnum and RWS 48.

Yes. I love the Vortek kits. All my HW springers have them, also my 34. I bought the rifle because I'm a sucker for a good project rifle. But I must say, at first I wasn't sure that I'd be able to get this thing to group worth a "dang". But after a good barrel cleaning, massaging, and getting the barrel leaded in, it's really coming around. Ill shoot some groups with it and see how it stacks up against the Germans once its nice enough to be outside more than five minutes without freezing my fingers.
