Trail NP question

Hello Folks, I'm new here great info you all provide.. i am somewhat new to this all, meaning Ive always had a pump BB/.177 but for Christmas i got my boys a couple Gamo's and decided to pick me up a Trail NP .22. I love it i cant believe how accurate it is... anyway, now i want more.
i have so many questions but I'll ask this one first..i don't like the guns i got my boys, so I'm thinking of giving mine to them and getting me another..
i like this Trail a lot..i was looking into the Trail XL 1100 is there much difference between that and what i have now?
That's all i would like to know right now, but I'll have more down the road, my brain is going nuts on all this airgun stuff...i just had no idea what was out there and what they could do..
I live in the country so noise isn't a problem, i mostly just plink around but would like to use this as rodent/pest/cat control...
thanks, Jason

xl are bigger rifles. heavier with more kick. return the gamo. get a xl for yourself with GRT III trigger on all rifles. do a search on google, GRT trigger will pop up.

Welcome to the GTA. The XL has more power, but it also harder to cock.

Welcome Jason,
NP verse the NPXL basics.
$70.00 differance in price.
With scope and sling attached, 8 pounds verse 11 pounds .
33 pounds cocking force verse 47 pounds.
The XL has about 150-175 feet pre second more speed with the same pellets.

You might also find the XL somewhat more difficult to shoot as accurately at first, it is a magnum and will require more "technique", it's just less forgiving. You'll definitely want the GRTIII trigger for it, makes a world of difference. That said, once you settle in with it, you'll love it! You should note that a lot of the guys have has some problems with them in the seal department as they come from the factory, not just the XL's but many of the NP models. Check the prior posts with a search, and in the library to research this issue. The fix isn't hard to do and a home tune is a good way to become "one" with your rifle and make it an even better shooter. All the info is here and the guys will be glad to help you with any questions you might have. Welcome aboard!

Thanks for the warm welcome, I will continue to look through posts..right now i really love my gun..the only thing i have to compare it to though are my sons Gamo's ( big cat 1200 & recon). mine i can already shoot quarter size groups at 30 yds,, theirs are all over the place very disapointing..i will continue to look into different guns, i like the looks of a marauder..but dont know if the added costs involved are what i want..also wondered what a .25 cal would be like having. if the fps are the same for the pcp and a NP is there an advantage over one or the other?
