I would love to hear about it's performance or lust over pics of it. I have always wanted one, but will probably never run into one to buy. I am thinking of a purchasing a "modern" equivalent. Maybe something like a HW50 or HW95. Nothing too fast or too slow, but something comfortable to shoot in .22. I don't know if any will have the cocking effort of a FWB, but beggars can't be choosers!

AH, you speak exactly the way I was thinking a while ago!! Ok, I did have the modern version first--the HW50s in 22cal and had it fully tuned. It shot 600fps with JSb Express .It was deadly accurate ,no hold sensitive, high quality and out to 35 yards flat trajectory for small game hunting. IF you got it in 177cal it would perform just like, the FWb 124 at about 800-815fps. And they have the Reckord triggers. Its a win win with the HW50s. I just didnt likemthe slightly clubby feel to the stock. Its weight is at the limit for me to field carry at 6.8lbs. (without the scope and mount). A while ago I won at auctyion a brand new in the box FWb 127D from 1976! Box and paperwork. I paid the price but knew it was a special and I would treat it as such. So I had Paul Watts do the advanced tune and use the mightly Everest spring . HE took off the sling swivel and put in a removeable cocking lever bolt and clip. Also replaced the plastic trigger with a JM Stainless steel and Paul tuned the trigger very nicely. It shot at 680fps with JSb Express 14.3gr pellets. Probably cocked in the low 20lbs range and I had the stainless Maccari trigger put in and tuned as well. Then I had my gunsmith redo the original stock to the way I would like it and with my claro walnut blank custom made a stock for this gun with more pleasing lines, palm swell, PRonounced monte carlo cheek swell, Glass bedded the action, real cut checkering ,full length stock covering the breech (allows for a shorter cocking slot) and a more rounded foregrip and straighter belly line than the original stock. It has hand rubbed oil finish. Its a dream to look at and shoot.

You have yourself a rare classic in that FWB 127 and its very sleek and modern looking with that very pretty custom stock. Those Feinwerkbau rifles like yours are definitely worth spending money on upgrades like you did since they are a real pleasure to shoot and extremely accurate. I upgraded my stock spring to a Maccari 12fpe Promac kit and it now shoots extremely smoothly and its so easy to cock so that you can plink at 12 fpe no sweat.

The HW95/R9 is probably the closest in performance comparison to the 127. The Diana 34 is also very close in performance. It takes a while to really accurize the trigger in an FWB Sporter. I replaced the deluxe stock my 127 came with, to a more ambi 121 style European stock.
