Spring Gun lubing

I was researching tuning and came across this link. I am wondering if he put too much lube on the piston and on the spring? I put less on mine and it still has a little twang. Should I pit this much on my RWS 34?

My 2 cent says that's about what I put on my springs maybe a little less. The real secret on getting rid of the twang IMO is a good fitting non metal guide. On the piston I go quite a bit less behind the seal and a little less on the open end. Should be some other opinions out there but that's more or less the way I lube the items you asked about.

I have a RWS 52 in 177, I just did a mod that is on this site. I put the delrin pins in the ram and the triger job. When I ordered the seal I ordered the proper oil for both the air side and the spring side oil that really helps. Tha best thing was the pins in the ram to help with the ker chunking, Now less vibration and the accuracy is back. Crono 1085 avg for 10 shots so I am happy. So the answer to the oil is yes is the spring needs a very light coating of spring oil and 2 to 3 drips in the air chamber of air chamber oil.

By pins in the piston do you mean you buttoned the piston?
