Author Topic: Brand new Disco problem (Read 4386 times))

I received my first PCP 2 days ago. When it arrived I cleaned the barrel and fully pumped the Disco to 2000 PSI. I quickly zeroed the Hawke scope in about 6 shots. Then made a nice group from 25 yards. I put the rifle away until today. I take the rifle out and it starts shooting low. I readjust the scope and it doesn't help. I then fully recharged the rifle back to 2000 PSI and adjusted the scope as high as it will go and it still shoots a foot low at 25 yards. I would think it was barrel droop if it hadn't shot perfectly 2 days ago. Any help would be appreciated.

Breech seal still good or there ?

The breach seal seems perfectly fine to me.

Look at the barrel from one end and see if it is bent.

The gap between the barrel and the tube is perfectly straight and the barrel is perfectly in line with the tube when looking down at it. It appears that it is straight as an arrow.

I forgot to mention I did remove the front site before I shot the gun today but that was quick and easy with zero complications.

Try some tissue over the breech to be sure and go from there

Lay a tissue over the breech and fire it. If your seal is bad, you'll see the tissue lift.

OK I tried it 3 times. The tissue barely twitches but I can't tell if it's from the seal or just the gun firing

You mentioned removing the front sight. Did you install a LDC. It may be clipping.

Don't own one, but being a new gun, etc, recheck your scope rings and stock screws.

Do you have the fill cap on and is it modded to clear the TKO? And if it is it might be off and pushing the barrel

I just mounted a completely different scope from a different rifle that was working perfectly with that rifle. First shot didn't even hit paper from less than 10 yards. I adjusted the scope way up and took another shot and again didn't even hit paper. It's definitely the gun.

The gun currently does not have either the cap or a TKO on it.

I was giving up trying to figure out the gun tonight since I ran out of light. While I was wiping it down I noticed the barrel wiggled around quite a bit. Mainly it wiggled side to side. I think I am going to have to send it in to Crosman. Very disappointing. My first PCP and the most I have spent on an air rifle.

Guess the obvious test would be to put the front sight base back on and see if it goes back to where you expect it to be.

The barrel should not have any wiggle at the breech . It is held with set screws. I would check that before sending it back.

I got a chance to play with it some more. I put the front sight base back on and it seemed to fix the problem. I guess it supports the barrel. The barrel is rock solid at the breech it just wiggles a little at the end if you push on it.

Looking at a pic, I would think the barrel band in front of the forearm would eliminate that. Is it tight ? The sight shouldn't really matter.
