Recommend me a chrony

Looking to get a chrony. Which one is the best bang for the buck?

A Basic chronograph is all you really need. I have one like this.http://www.midwayusa.com/product/531741/shooting-chrony-f1-chronograph
They run around $100. All you need is a chronny that displays FPS (feet per second). All the rest can be calculated.

You can pay more for a chronny that has Memory/storage and a few bells and whistles for calculatons of AVERAGE fps, and DEVIATION of fps, etc.
The extra cost wasn't Worth it for me. I just use a note pad and pencil to record my string of shots and a calculator if I want an Average or Deviation, or FPE.

I got my F-1 Chrony at Wally World but they are bad to sell out because of the price , but that was 2 or 3 years ago.

I borrowed a shooting chrony, and I could never get it to work, correctly. Following the nudging of fellow GTA members and on-line reviews, I got a ProChrono for Christmas. Only having used the ProChrono once, it worked great.

ProChrono Digital. Bought it on Amazon for $119 and free shipping. Then I spring for the $49 usb interface to my laptop. It comes with software and has full remote features with a 10' cable. I use it indoors with a 50 watt flood light about 4' above it and outdoors with natural light. I position it 12" from the muzzle. It operates flawlessly. The software has 3 displays. The main display consists of the remote controls, shot string and calculations such as fpe  and string average. The two optional displays are a large current shot display and a running graph display. Data can be printed or stored in various formats such as pdf or excel. It operates for about 20 hours on a 9v battery and has storage for an extra one. I am very pleased with mine. It really takes this hobby to a new level for me.

I'll second this.  I've had my ProChrony for about 20yrs now.  Mine was made before Digital was invented.   About a hundred bucks way back when and not much more now.  I figure the only way mine will die is if I put a bullet into it.   Don't laugh.  It happens more than most will admit.

I have Shooting Chrony Beta and ProChrono Digital.. Both work very well but I personally feel the ProChrono has a slight edge over the Shooting Chrony in sensitivity. Toss a coin...

My vote would be the pro-chrono too. When I was looking it had the better across the board reviews and the least frustration factor.

The pro chrono for 20-35 bucks more then the chrony is a much better system and picks up the little 177 pellets a lot better then the chrony
