Mod 75 rebuild...

Hi..
Finaly got my mod 75 back up and shooting...
It become one of those get around to it jobs...

new seal that I had to make..seems the only people
that make seals for the 26.75 Hatsan tubes are Hatsan..
So I turned one from 95A urethane..bit softer than I would
like but it will do till I get some 75D...

spring is a Mcarri Taraluta on a new set of guides..
for some reason It had no top hat & the spring ends were unfinished
so it had cut a groove around the inside of the piston...what a mess.
(yer can see the mess in the last pic)

I hacked the barrel to 350mm  14" and made a muzzle brake/shroud..

Looking for some input on Lathes. Anyone have working experience with the Chinese lathes,Will they holdup, plastic gears?, seem very light duty to me.
I have been looking for one of the old (50-60s)sears lathes, hard to find with tooling.
Just need for light work on my AGs any help would be appreciated. Thank you

Hi..
i have a 7x14....
I have replaced the plastic gear box gears with steel ones.( one broke)
The gilmer belt "cog belt" & gears keep wearing the teeth off...Have made
alloy Vee belt pullys to take a 8mm wide vee belt...
The control board died....So have rebuilt the complete drive train..new motor
& pully stacks for gear change....

Its NOW a very good lathe..but still small..........
