I received my new Cricket today and had some good and bad surprises. The good, it came with the black cheek piece and it has the numbered not color gauge, The bad, it was slightly damaged when I received it. The side lever dented in the black aluminum cover that sits underneath it. I shot about 100 pellets through it and at 40 yards it shoots great, at 60 and 75 yards, not so great. This weekend I'll pull out the chrony and see what fps it is shooting at.

Darn, it looks like they would pack those things better than they do? Hopefully it will be an easy fix to get the company to send you a new plate. Looks like you can just remove the two phillips screws and replace it?

I have the .25 cal Rifle version and I love it. I think she's pretty good out to 60 yds?

What kinda of pellets are you feeding it? What pressure are you shooting at it? 300 bar?

Check to see if pellets are not clipping the shroud. You will see grey streak on end cap if it does. Also check if shroud is screwed on tight.

Where did you buy it from? How is the cheek piece? is it factory or a 3rd party cheek piece

Wow, that took a hit in shipping. I wonder if that is contributing to the accuracy issue (if not clipping or pellet selection).

Here are my initial impressions of the gun. It is heavier than I was expecting it to be. When I picked up the box it was in I thought maybe they included a few tins of pellets, no the gun itself is heavy. The magazine insertion into the gun is just bazaar, but I'm getting use to it. The tactical stock is a very nice piece of work, it has a feel about that isn't cheap and the included cheek piece matches the stock perfectly. The side lever is not as smooth as my FX and Air Arms guns but way smoother than my Hammerli Pneuma. The moderator works great, making this a very quiet gun. The magazine storage is a nice idea. I bought a few extra mags, so the five I have stay stored in the gun and I don't have to go looking for them when it's time to shoot it. The fill probe that comes with the gun works very well and seals with no air leaking when the gun is being filled. Also I like that I can just crank open the valve on my 4500 psi tank and watch as the gun fills nice and slow. I wish all of my guns had this slow fill feature. I really wish this thing came with a safety. I guess you load a pellet only when you are ready to fire the gun.

I bought the gun from Precision Airguns and Supplies out of Dryden, MI. Upon learning about the damage to my gun during shipping they said they would send me a new plate the next business day. They also said they would start packing their Crickets so this thing wouldn't happen again. This is the third rifle I've bought from them and they've always taken care of me so I have no hard feelings about the damage.

In the coming months I'm looking forward to seeing what this compact gun can do.

I had a chance to shoot the gun a bit today. I first filled the gun to 300 BAR and got about 76 shots of JSB 18.13gr averaging 912 FPS, before it went off the regulator. I know, I know, most say not to do it but it does say on the gun 300 BAR max, so I just needed to try it once. After the first magazine the air pressure in the gun was at 243 BAR. Mag 2, 200 BAR. Mag 3, 173 BAR. Mag 4, 140 BAR. And Mag 5, 115 BAR. All the pressure readings are what the gauge on the gun indicated and estimated by sight if the needle on the gauge was in between two lines on the gauge.

My regulator was a little wacky today. The gun first started shooting in the 910-915 fps range for 6-7 full mags like normal, then began shooting in the 925-930 fps for a couple of mags, then began shooting in the 900-905 fps range for a few mags. When I first received the gun it was shooting in the 910-915 fps range. Perhaps the regulator is settling down or maybe filling the gun to 300 BAR had something to do with it,

I tried 10 different pellets today to see what one works best in my gun. Most of the pellets I tried were made by H&N, including copper coated and a non-lead pellets, three different sizes of the Baracuda Match pellets, even some pointed and hollow point pellets. Also tried some Crosman Premier pellets. Of all the pellets I tried, what shot best in my gun was the JSB 18.13. Which is good because I have a couple thousand of them waiting to be shot.

My groups have really started tightening up compared to the first time I shot the gun. When I shot the gun the first time at 75 yards my groups were about 6-8 inches. I cleaned the gun, loosened and then tightened the screws that hold the barrel and the one the holds the stock on. Below are 4, 14 shots groups using JSB 18.13 Exact Jumbo Heavy Diabolo. I'm not going to win any contests but at least the groups are getting smaller.

That is some really fine shooting, keep practicing and I know it will get better. I don't know if you are shooting with that strap on the back or not, but I wouldn't recommend it (personally I don't believe is vicing down my gun during pellet, distance, or accuracy testing. Second there are always a lot of things to take into consideration: temp, wind, pellet, breathing, distance, etc so its hard for me to judge your groups. May I offer some advice first baby steps. What pellet does you're gun love at lets say 25 yards? Because the smaller the groups closer in the smaller the groups further out. Second I do five shot groups and if they are .5 inches or better I take it out 5 or ten more yards and do it again till they are .5 inches or better. Remembering (sometimes***) that a pellet actually improves with distance cause the speed slows down and it may hit its optimal speed at slower FPS (Magic pellet = right pellet and right speed). Third check out this site he has one and hunts regularly she what he things about his and how his test are going. Good luck and happy shooting.

I owned my .25 Cricket for 7 months now and filling to 290 bar I was getting 60+ shots with a 17 fps spread I'm sure I could have gotten more but was easier to load my 5 mags and just refill when done. Accuracy was great and have had no issues. I sent it to Ernest a week ago and this is part of an email he sent me monday.
