Big Cat 1200 first impressions

So I unboxed the Gamo BC 1200 this morning. There was  the rifle(I should hope), a BSA 3X9X40 non AO scope, the instructions for the gun and the scope, a tube of Raptor pellets and a Gamo 1 piece mount. The interesting thing was that the scope already had 2 piece mounts installed on it. I removed them and used the one piece mount, as the 2 piece had no scope stop pin and the 1 piece does. I mounted up the scope and ran a slightly oiled patch through the bore followed by 2 dry ones. The first 3 shots dieseled pretty good so I shot about 20 JSB Heavies into a block of Duct-Seal, and things started to calm down. Then I ran a few across the chronograph. Shot in the basement, using an F-1 w/ indoor lighting at 4700 FASL. RWS Superdomes went low 852.2, high 865.4, Avg 859.7 St Dev 4.38, energy 13.6 ft/lbs using 8.3 grains. JSB Heavies low 771.1, high 778.5, Avg 774.8 St Dev 2.72, energy 14.0 ft/lbs using 10.3 grains. The gun cocks smoothly (I expected more crunchiness) and the firing behavior is actually quite nice, for a Gamo  . The trigger, well, it stinks and that’s being kind. A replacement is definitely going to be on order pronto. I cut an old t-shirt in ½ and stuffed the hollow stock with it. I shot some groups in the basement (which is almost exactly 10 yds) and this gun wants to shoot! I tried 3 pellets (RWS S-Domes, JSB Heavies and Gamo Match). The Gamo’s were the least accurate (and not really that bad) and the RWS and JSB were neck and neck. What’s nice is the RWS and JSB shoot to almost the same POI. Again, the stock trigger is the greatest hindrance to accuracy right now.  The BSA scope is real nice too. The lenses are clear and bright, with almost no distortion at the edges. When set a 3X, there was almost no parallax error, but if I increased it then it was apparent. I’m going to guess the parallax is factory set at 35 or 50 yards. I really do like this gun, and for $99, I’m quite happy.

Great score on the new shooter.  Where were you lucky enough to find a Big Cat that still had a metal trigger?   I have a niece that wants one tuned down a little to match my wifes gun and haven't been able to locate a metal trigger for her yet, would really appreciate some guidance to one if you don't mind.  Thanks and Congrats!

That would be just my luck...2 get a metal trigger
I have one that just cleared customs....It better have a
plastic trigger....But yours a referb...fingers crossed.........
