last year Bob announced a .30 cal barrel project for the .30 cal pellets
i jumped right in and ordered one .30 cal barrel from Sean plus a bolt for the Marauder
and also ordered a cpl of .30 cal magazines from Lloyd
got the barrel and a bolt from Sean & mounted them in a .25 cal Marauder breech

had a A2A big bore valve laying around i figured might work for this project

i am really slow and when the 500cc bottle project from Douglas showed up this year
i thought this would be just the perfect air supply for the .30 cal Marauder project i'm sitting on
so i jumped in and ordered one of his kits
and when it showed up recently i started to assemble with spare parts from the work bench

and when an AZ bottle came up recently on classifieds
i thought wow that will be really cool
it is 400cc instead of the 500 but that should still be OK

now i am at a crossroads and need to make a decision
which stock to cut up for this project ?

need to do some stock work plus build a longer shroud for the longer then stock barrel
then the real work will start
tuning it

I vote for the Eye Candy!
Cut up the Blaster!

You can always practice on the factory stock first............if you are on the fence that means you REALLY want the Blaster but are hesitant to start chopping on it.
I have always liked that elecric blue laminate.

I'm subscribed......can't wait to see her put together all the way.

No question, get out the saw and chop up the Blaster.... *grin*.... I love the execution on this build, and I'm really looking forward to seeing how it performs.... If you have the opportunity to give us some dimensions on the valve porting, it would be appreciated.... It looks like the major change is no valve spring or front end?....

How cool, my project is nearly identicle to yours. Mines nearly ready for its assembly but im watching yours closely.

The body is that from a 22 cal, and the exhaust is larger...hopefully the throat is at least .250...but if it isn't, going to .265 is within what the delrin can tolerate at 3k fill pressures. I found the exteded seat valves to work quite well once the cap restriction was dealt with...I have yet to turn up the 25 cal since installing it, or the heavy hammer.

i have 2 1/2 hours into grinding the stock for fit and am close
will probably take another cpl hours cleaning up and polishing
took this pict 5 min ago for you to see how i am shaping the stock
i want to use as much of the forearm as possible, you can see some of the new scratches that now need polishing
i might have another of Daves valves
i will look in my parts box and see
if not i will ask him if he will make another one for us
he is really burned out on AG parts and might not be willing

Nice!

I recommend Minwax Wipe On Poly in Gloss or Satin to touch up and match your finish.
I think that is what is being used on those Blasters from Norm.
If not, it works great! VERY easy to use - that's what I finished my stock with and it looks like a marble.

David i had another paper towel wrapped item marked A2A in the parts box
but it was the opened gauge port not a valve

Sean, I currently have 4 brod projects in various stages of assemble. Your valve will be used in one of them. I thought the .30 cal pellet shooter brod could benifit from a slightly less powerful valve and your valve could go in one of the more powerful ones. Will keep you updated on its progress for sure.

Sean, that valve looks FANTASTIC!
Any chance of doing something similar for a Discovery?

What I like most is the valve spring location on the stem and the poppet/seat material.

Sean has done a similar valve for the QBs and I'll be getting the first one for a Disco, thank you very much!.... Actually, the room between the valve and hammer in a Disco is the limiting factor, the Challenger tube (or a custom tube) may be a better option....
