Retay Troy air rifles ??
«

Was browsing a German airgun store's website and came across their SWS Troy series.
SWS = SportWaffenSchneider
They are made by this Turkish company:
http://www.retaygun.com/
Have seen a few close up pics on a
Russian board
, looks like a Gamo clone, the trigger unit looks a bit like the one in the XS19/BMK27 (B19 clones)
A member of the UK Chinese Airgun Forum posted they are for sale as AirForceOne Hercules in the UK:
http://www.fieldandrurallife.com/magazine/november-10/928-range-right-launches-all-new-airforceone-range-of-spring-air-rifles.html
Is this rifle known in the US?

I am under the impression that they are not made in Turkey but in China by BAM which uses the brandname "Retay" in the specific country.

They are from Turkey, read bout them on the Turkish board, think they got mixed reviews. It is a hard board to navigate with a translator.

I've passed a link to this thread and the Retaygun website on to an airgun importer and asked it to check them out. Can't say what might happen, but if any of you know of importers and are interested in these rifles, you might consider doing the same.
darryl
PS I've also contacted Retay to inquire about the possibility of it's products being imported here, and requested information on what is required to become an importer and dealer. I'm not saying I can be either, but it doesn't hurt to ask.

I've been a facebook fan of them for sometime. Very interesting looking guns; the kind I find appealing.
Other than visiting their website, I've been unable to find out anything about them; no independent reviews or anything.

I've just heard back from Retay. It plans to enter the market with new items, and I assume it means the US market in 2011 and is receiving contacts from importers. It plans to be at the 2012 Shot Show. It is open to advice, at least it asked if I could offer any. Of course I can't think of any way I could be useful at the moment. It has said it requires an annual selling amount and a long-term distribution and dealer relationship. I heard from the head of the international sales department.

... kinda like Chinese guns.
I own a few Chinese springers that would match up against your 'non-Chinese' guns. Careful when you dismiss an entire country. If you don't own one, you can't really judge, and if you had a bad one, you got the wrong one. Don't blame the country.

I haven't heard back from Retay since I asked for a 100x Ferrari to demo and evaluate (prior to writing a review). But if ya don't ask, they can't tell ya "No!"
I've been reading through some import laws, and it may be possible to get one imported if the hassle isn't too great. I'd have to look into it more, and decide if I'm really that interested. The stocks on these rifles look very nice.

The wood looks great, but especially the buttstock system.
WOW
Darryl if you can get a stock only, I'd be interested.
