Replacement Trail- Chrony Numbers and Pictures

Well, my new Trail arrived last week, and I finally had the opportunity to finish up the work I wanted to do on it, and send a 30 shot string across the chrony. I really couldn't be happier with it...
I sent the first rifle back to Crosman because of low velocity (not more than 690 fps). Crosman had already sent me a replacement gas spring, but the rifle wasn't significantly faster after I installed it. Even though I sent
only the rifle back
, Crosman sent in return a
brand-new rifle, scope, and sling
! Turn around time was about two weeks.
Upon receiving the rifle, I immediately took it apart. Then I de-burred the edges of the stamped out parts of the receiver tube, wiped the inside clean of all the oil from the factory, installed a new seal and GRT-III trigger, and dropped the whole assembly into the Remington Summit stock that I had waiting. It's worth noting that the thumb-hole stock on the replacement rifle has a much nicer finish than what I originally received, and even though I'm not currently using it, I wouldn't hesitate to put it on another rifle.
A 30 shot sting across the Chrony yielded a high of 776.7 fps and a low of 750.1 fps, with an average velocity of 761.2 fps. I've only put a couple hundred pellets through the rifle, but I'm managing dime size groups at 20 yards with CPHPs...
Hats off to Crosman customer service- they set the standard, I think. Would have been easier for everyone involved for them to have sold me this rifle the first time around, though...
EDIT: Forgot to add that I also have the gas spring out of the original rifle. There really isn't a thing wrong with it... Likely my other Trail was shooting weak because of a number of factors, since replacing the gas spring did nothing to increase the velocity. It would easily drop into my Storm or similar rifle, and in .177, should make a pretty good shooter. Looks like another project is at hand!

"dang", maybe I should give them a call too, mine is only hitting 705 fps with CPHP's, which I always thought was normal for this gun.

Good job and another "hats off" to Crosman customer service. Sounds like you have yourself a great shooter now. And I'm partial to those Summit stocks too. Enjoy.
Happy Shooting!!!!
