So, why did you get into "airgunning"?

When I was 8 I shot my neighbor's Daisy, love at first sight!!! Since then I got hooked into airguns, besides at that age was the only thing legal I could own!!! 

I wish I were 8 again, and what would be even more cool if I had a dad like me. I know I would have an AA510S.

I really loved my Daisy till I turned 15 and I saw my next gun! It was a Gamo in .22 (springer)

When I was about 8 or 9 we lived in rural northern Ohio. The neighbor kid seemed to have anything he ever wanted including a Daisy BB gun. I don't even remember what model. I begged and begged for one and finally, probably to shut me up, I got one. It lasted one day. I made the mistake of showing up at home with a robin nest full of eggs. they didn't beleive my story of how the mother abandoned them and I was going to hatch and raise them. The bb gun made it's way into the next family yard sale. About 6 months ago Betty Lou and I were in Walmart and a Daisy 880s caught my attention. I told Betty Lou the story from my childhood and it melted her heart (bless her (evil grin)). She told me that I should have a pellet gun. That was 20 airguns ago. So, I totally blame my addiction on Betty Lou and GTA. And I thank you for it. I have been successfully enabled and I promise to do my part to pay that forward. Now, who needs an airgun? I know a few places to buy them.

Betty Lou seems like such a nice lady. How were you lucky enough to catch her? I wouldn't let her go.

Been trying to tell you guys, the answer is pink airgun. You bring home a pink airgun and they just have to shoot it, they can't help themselves. And when someone shoots an airgun for the first time..... well, we all know what happens.

I was about 16 when I came across my first ARH catalog. I just fell in love with the airguns pictured in it. Wasn't till I was in my 20's that I finally bought my first springer, an HW50S. It was so much more fun than shooting a .22 rimfire rifle.

I have shoot muzzleloaders for years and about 10 years ago powder took a heck of a jump in price and my local dealer retired. I started shooting less and less.

About 3 years ago my wife and I started cleaning up the property where she grew up.  It was in the country with no neighbors with in a 1/4 mile.  I bought a Ruger Air Hawk and we started to shot it at the "farm."  We both have enjoyable times killing cans and shooting swinging targets.  We soon discovered the QB family and the P17s. 

We went to North Dakota to see our son and his family.  Well, since we was going to be in the neighborhood, we stopped by Flying Dragon Air Rifles, twice.  We now have an air pump, a B51 and a B21.  There may be a B50 in our very near future.

I had not seen any ..22 LR for sale for 10 months so I thought maybe this was a repacement until the .22 came available (if ever). It has been and I'm enjoying it. I'm still upset over the .22 and still have no satisfactory answer to whats going on.

  Started as a city kid then at age 11 my parents moved us east on Long Island NY back then it was the country several dairy's and working farms in walking distance saved and bought a Daisy Model 1895 replica bb rifle fast forward 56 years and I am still hooked on shooting and adult AG's fill a nice place in my soon to be retired life

 Don't recall the year when I was given  BB gun but I was in grade school at the time. I recall using it to get rid of unwonted birds that got into the barn and other farm buildings.  In the spring of 1949 I was given a 22 RF rifle and lost all interest in bb guns. In the early 1980 I got a new Beeman R-1 bear outline 17 Cal with the damage front site for which I paid $ 70 some dollars.. I took off the open site and mounted a scope on it .  I dident know a thing about air guns or pellets  and  air gun scopes so I set up targets at 10, 20, 30, 40,and 50 yards to see what the R-1 would do.  That R-1 is accurate and used it to get rid of unwonted birds and shot a few cottontail rabbits with it. In the mid 90 there was a Beeman GS 1000 22 Cal with a scope on sale. Dident know the quality of the Beeman rifles had changed. I got 6 to 8 inch groups with it at 25 yards.  Set it away and dident work on it until 2009. When I recrowned the muzzle , got smaller groups but not as good as the R-1.  After being retired for ten years my old body stopped me from going big game hunting so I started going to garage sales, auctions and flea markets. Got a old Benjamin 312  which I repaired and then repaired a 20 Cal Sheridan rocker safety  rifle for a friend. I enjoyed repairing and shooting the pump up air rifles. So since then I started collecting pump up Benjamin Co , Sheridan Co , and Benjamin -Sheridan models made by Crosman  .  So  now at 78 years old I have a hobby that I can enjoy..

I just ordered a Benjamin 397 to try out the pump gun arena.  Gonna put a Williams peep on it.  It's more fun for me to shoot iron sights at close range.  I hear what you say about the big game hunting.  I'm 75 and my elk hunt last October was successful but it sure took a lot out of me also.

I was given my first air rifle at the age of 7 1970 a Crosman V350  I thought it was the best gun ever made!
Having lost my Dad in NAM and Mother in a car accident the spring of 1970.
 My uncle (U.S. Marine) just back from Nam, He thought it would be a good way for us to speed time together doing things, he was right as far back as I can remember we were hunting, fishing, Shooting in our free time. and it all started with that air rifle.
Plus it was easy growing up in North Dakota where my closest neighbor was 4 miles away.  1973 I got my first .22LR Cal Rifle and never looked back, shooting about 100 rounds a day till I was 16-17 then it was Girls & Cars. Then in the 1990's after my stent in the military, my house was over run with critters of all kinds not wanting to fill the house with holes I picked up a Crosman 1377 and did what I needed to do.
Moving forward my wife was in the Army and served in Iraq war, she loves to hunt and shoot fish and its kinda cool, then as my son came of age and it was my turn to bring him into shooting pick him up a Crosman GT1 Extreme , now he is a U.S. Marine and in Afghanistan Today.
Now it is away for me to have something to do during the day.

Well lets see, I had the privilege to live on an 8+ acre farm from age 10 to about 15. I got my first airgun shortly before that, and loved to hunt with my very under powered little daisy springer lever gun. Even managed to shoot down a dragonfly once (wasted about 300 bb's on that endeavor!)

So, now at age 45 I love hunting and the outdoors, and shooting sports, but find myself a victim of the economy (and my poor financial decisions) and not able to afford regular trips to the dessert to shoot. I get to shoot my firearms maybe 5 to 6 times a year. I wanted something to shoot in the backyard, and I have a rat infestation in my dilapidated storage shed on the property we rent in town, so I wanted it capable of eliminating rats. My meager budget said no to the nice guns I've seen since looking into airguns so when my birthday rolled around (Dec 6th) I said the heck with it, and spent $40 I couldn't afford on a Daisy 880S combo kit. The scope stunk so I modified the gun to take the scope mounts for an OLD (50+ years) rifle scope I took off the 30-06 I inherited and mounted that. Its power deficient, I estimate it has 3x or so, but its clear and it works great for a sub 25 yard airgun. Now here I am trying to learn all I can about Airguns, (much the same as I do for my other shooting addiction, Muzzle loaders)

I'm about footballed out.  Today is a cold, cloudy and very windy 60° here in east Texas and it's forecast to get a whole lot worse.  Even so, I could, and did, take four different air guns, one at a time, out the back door and comfortably shot 60 or so pellets off my bench on the patio without using a drop of diesel or gasoline.  Did I mention that the total cost of today's ammo was maybe $1.25?

How did you shoot with te wind we are having. My pellets are hitting 3 to 4 mil-dots to the right @ 70 yards.

70 yds? wow !!!  that's like a different time zone. no wonder they are off, they went back in time .... lol

I only shot at 10 M  and was okay with one hole groups with all but the 2289.  I did have to try and time my shots to when the target wasn't moving.  My Daisy Avanti 853 is truly amazing.   

Given the weather report, today is gonna' have to hold me for awhile.

gave up air gunning years ago when i discovered the .22CB cap.
when the town outlawed  shooting them in my area i went back to air guns...even more so now that theres no more  22 rimfire.

My older brother had a daisy rifle, a good friend had five or six air rifles so I was able to enjoy them but never had my own.  Finally at 51 years old I said it was time to get my own so I bought my RWS 350.  I don't have the land for shooting a powder burner so an air gun is perfect for my yard.  I probably should have bought one years ago so I could have enjoyed it more with my two boys earlier.  Anyways I am looking forward to building up my collection of air guns.
