«

I can not decide which caliber would the best. The main uses would be hunting and doing some longer range coke can plinking. Is one caliber more accurate then the other?
Thanks
Jason

I'm a .22 fan myself. I have the XL 1100.

Do you have other AG's in other calibers? That could have something to do with your decision. I got the Crosman NPSS Digital Camo in .177 because I have a Benji Trail NP in .22

Simple question, simple answer...
.22
Because they don't make a .23...?
More smackdown for hunting, better wind resistance, and 'cause it's what I already bought, I guess.

The .22 packs more "whack" factor for hunting and it holds up better at longer ranges.

sounds like .22 i have a benjamin 392 and thats in .22 or course. I planed on getting a cheap phantom to learn how to tune with so i would have a .177. which gun would you choose the npss or xl1100?

177 if you a target shooter 22 for hunting or you could say it like this 22 around 700 to 750 fps 177 900 to 930 fps. that will give you something to think about.I have had both a xl1100 and a npss to me no comparison the xl is a good ag for hunting and is a hard gun to master even for experienced shooters the npss how ever is a much lighter easyer ag to shoot and also a lot less cocking effort. Thanks David

As mentioned, the 22 will retain more energy at hunting ranges. Greater wound inflicting, therefore greater chance of a humane kill.
The 17 will shoot flatter at usual pellet gun range, so less holdover guess work.
The 17 will be cheaper to shoot per pellet.
And the main reason I don't shoot any 17 pellets - they are too small for my old eyes to see which end goes in first without putting on my reading glasses!
Paul.

Since you also intend to hunt with it, the choice is obvious - .22 caliber all the way.

I like .177 in some platforms, but this one lends itself to .22. For the relative power and punch of the ram system it seems wasted on the smaller caliber.

I have a benjamin trail in 22 and it is an awesome gun. Dont know if you can compare the two, but press that buy button on a 22!

I've got the .22 and have no regrets. But since I'm on my lap top and the screen is facing away from my wife, I have no problem saying I'd love another one in .177.

The tribe has clearly spoken lol. 22 is definitely the way to go if you intend to do any long range hunting or long range shooting in general.
