Best rifle opinion

I'm new to air rifles n very intrigued w/ what's available now. I'm in the market for a nitro piston n deciding between Crossman trail 1500 nitro piston .22 cal or the Gamo whisper fusion pro nitro piston .22 cal. Would like to hear what which is best bang for the buck.

Hi, Rosco, and welcome to the GTA!!  Having never seen either airgun it would be hard to decide which is better.  I do believe Crosman has superior customer support, having owned a Crosman.  If you wish to order parts they will send parts.  If you want Gamo parts, be prepared to go through a federal firearms licensed (FFL) dealer, as they require that on many parts orders.

I am not saying either gun is better than the other.  I just happen to be really impressed with Crosman customer service.

What Thom is saying is true, but if you have a firearms dealer near you that will order parts this isn't an issue since Gamo will send them all the parts you need...

Now either gun will need a trigger upgrade, one will get a GRT III the other a GRT IV....

I believe the Gamo has a larger tube diameter than the trail, so more available air and better performance....

  Welcome to the GTA. MY .02 cents if you buy a break barrel there is a learning curve as you master the Artillery hold. The under levers are less hold sensitive and most pellet rifles will have 1 pellet that shoot the most accurate. Do your research  and if you have an opportunity to shoot a few pellet rifles before buying do so it will make your choice easier  and you may end up with only one for awhile until the bug really bites you
